An excellent violin at a modest price.
The Alexandria Violin Outfit is made of hand-graduated, seasoned Carpathian spruce top and features a nicely flamed, seasoned Carpathian maple back, sides, and neck. The golden brown spirit varnish finish adds to the instrument's beauty. It features ebony fingerboard, pegs, nut, and saddle, Guarneri style chinrest, and an ebony tailpiece with four fine tuners.
The Alexandria has been shop-adjusted to MENC specifications with D'Addario Pro-Arté strings and a figured maple bridge. The outfit includes a Glasser horsehair bow and a shaped hardshell case. The violin is made in a factory located in Reghin, Romania. This region of the world has a sizable population of skilled woodworking artisans where handcrafting violins is a centuries-old tradition.

Comments about Florea Alexandria Violin Outfit:
I recently purchased this violin for my daughter as an upgrade from a 1/2 size rental she was using. I am not a violin expert, but I have to say this is a very nice violin. The construction is very nice. I only see a few very minor bits of excess glue on one joint. Everything is solid wood, chinrest is wood, etc. not plastic like the cheaper violins out there.
The sound quality I also find to be very nice. Again, I'm no violin expert, but this has a nice rich tone that is very pleasing to my ears.
The overall package is quite nice as well. The bow is solid wood and like the violin itself, seems to be put together quite well. The case is a rectangular case with nice compartments inside for shoulder rest, rosin, etc. It should protect the violin very well.
Only one bit of excess glue, otherwise put together very nicely. Nice wood used for body, neck, and fingerboard.
I compared this violin to my local shops items in the same price range, and this Florea I find to be a much better value. Highly recommended.
