Comments about Florea Prodigy violin outfit:

As a middle school string teacher, please, PLEASE avoid this and other similar violins. The instrument is not set up to be playable. The tailpiece does not line up. The neck is offset. There is no preparation or string spacing at the nut or bridge. The bridge is not cut to the proper height. Imagine if you received a guitar with 6 strings running the length of the instrument but no grooves at the bridge or nut for guidance. That is what this instrument has.

Please spend just a small amount more at a reputable music dealer that will replace parts and repair any issues and who will put 100% of what you are spending towards a quality instrument.

Though you will not be paying rent if you buy this instrument, you will own an instrument gauranteed to cause frustration in your child and teacher and an instrument that will never help them succeed.

Comments about Florea Prodigy violin outfit:

I knew that at the price it would be of very low quality but I thought it may at least be used for a student to start learning on. NO this is unplayable. The nut was slotted with the strings on top of each other, the joints were seperated in several places, the stain was half done and very badly done were it was, the bridge is no stronger than card-board and the wood is paper thin. This is a peoce of crap imo. The case was very nice well made and worth owning, too bad the case makers didn't make the violin it may have been playable.
Very thin wood, very bad stain job, sloppy wormanship overall.
Awful, looks like it was made by blind chimps.
This is unsellable to anyone who cdan handle it up close. The case is nice worth maybe $50.00 so that's a plus for the case maker.

Comments about Florea Prodigy violin outfit:

Overall it is a very good violin for beginners. You won't have a problem with it!
It is a very nice violin. I've had it for 2 years already and it still plays well. It is a very good beginner instrument.I would not say it's the best but it's very good for the price.
As I've said i'vr had it for 2 years and i haven't had a problem with it, the only problem just happened 2 weeks ago the peg got very weird and wouldn't move, but then when i tried to tune it i moved it and the string broke so now i have to order some new strings.Very good instrument.
It is very cheap for the quality of it and has a very good value for anyone trying to learn.

          Amazing starter violin

          By Allen Reynolds

          from Oswego, NY

Comments about Florea Prodigy violin outfit:

I bought this as a starter instrument for my girlfrienfd to learn on, which translates to me learning as well. Overall this violin is very nice; its tone and clarity are superb for the price. The finish is a bit cheaper than the picture would suggest, but for the price I really cannot complain. I have a suggestion to fix some of the problems others are having. First thing you do when you buy an instrument is to CHANGE THE STRINGS. I cannot stress this enough. the strings are pretty much much DOA due to everytihng they go through between being put on at the factory and shipped to your house. Its been over a month now and no complaints.

          GREAT violin WRONG bridge

          By Aaron Kostiha

          from Brooklyn, NY

Comments about Florea Prodigy violin outfit:

Finest investment I have made in a while. Beautiful sound, look, and features, like a fine tumer.
The violin is a great value. I have never played violin before. Therefore, I did not really know what it was supposed to look or sound like. After 3 weeks and learning several songs with the quiet violin, I switched the bridge to one of the spares I bought with spare strings. The right size bridge was about a centimeter taller. Now the violin echos throught the hallways of my building. The one that came with the violin was obviously the wrong size. I say buy this violin in a heartbeat, it is the most beautiful sound a couple hundred bucks will buy. However, make sure you buy extra $2 4/4 bridges, a shoulder rest for ease of play, extra strings so you can snap a few, and maybe an extra bow, in case you want to alter rosins. The fine tuners it came with were really, really handy

When correctly played, with the correct bridge, it is the finest sound and quality for the money. I could not be more satisfied with my decision to own this violin.
no problems at all with this piece, other than it coming with the bwrong size bridge, which I switched for $2 american. The fine tuners are very handy. Don't buy a violin without it.
for the violin I recieved, I would have payed $800+ for, but this one, and the extras I bought for it, were only a couple hundred dollars. Unbelievable value

          Not bad

          By allen-XMiiS

Comments about Florea Prodigy violin outfit:

I play guitar, piano, saxophone, harmonica, and decided to try the violin, so i bought an inexpensive cheap violin. Cheap tuners. After i received the violin i noticed the bridge was so crooked you could barely play.I had to get a new bridge. After about a week the tuners started actually shredding the peg box. I had to send it back and after a month I finally got a new one back. Its okay,a great student violin. The bridge was still horrible. I would say its a good deal but if you buy it make sure to get a new bridge to.

          Beginner's review

          By A.Hall

          from Cleveland, TN

Comments about Florea Prodigy violin outfit:

The previous review pretty much covers everything I have to say about this violin, so I'll make just a few pointers. First of all, the case is lightweight, but is very nice. I would not recommend storing anything on top of this case however. The violin is nowhere near as glossy as the stock pictures depict, but the finish is still attractive. The bow is seemingly very good quality. The tone is good for the price you pay. The only gaff I have on this violin is that the pegs keep wanting to loosen up after tuning the strings. I'm assuming this will get better the longer I play and tune the strings. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the violin and I feel that I will be for years to come. The perfect violin for learning techniques and finesse, but would most likely be frowned upon in a serious symphony performance.

          Better than I was expecting

          By G.S.

          from MS

Comments about Florea Prodigy violin outfit:

I bought the Florea Prodigy violin outfit after years of wanting to learn violin. It is a very decent beginner's model. Let's be real: if you are expecting a super high quality violin, case, and bow in this price range then you will be disappointed. If you are expecting a nice student grade instrument you can learn on then you will likely be pleased with your purchase. The case is rectangular with a zip-up sheet music compartment on top (very handy). Inside, the instrument fits very well and has a velcro strap to help secure the neck. There's room for two bows as well, and three nice accessory compartments (one with a lid, two open)for rosin and such. The violin itself is a dark satin finish. Mine has very nice figuring on the back. The finish could be nicer - there are a few drips at the neck heel. The pegs and holes may need to be touched up a bit for a nice solid fit. The bow is good quality and well-balanced. String height on mine was perfect. Tone is decent, but I'm planning on buying better strings eventually. I really love the Guarneri-style chin rest - the bracket is offset and doesn't bite into my collarbone like some styles I've tried, and I haven't even needed to use the shoulder rest I bought. Overall, this is a good-looking, good-sounding instrument that should serve my studies well. I foresee many years of enjoyment from it.
