Comments about Gibraltar Ball Arm Pad Mount:

I've always liked Gibraltar hardware. It's built like its namesake. I bought these for my Gibraltar rack for my Roland e-drums. They give you many more adjustment possibilities than the standard mounts. They adjust easily, and the ball-joint locks rock-solid. As a working musician, I am setting up and tearing down constantly, these mounts are perfect.

Comments about Gibraltar Ball Arm Pad Mount:

I have equipped two electronic kits over to these Gibraltar ball arm mounts. They work very well, and are of good quality. My only quibble. is a small one. Perhaps they are a trifle "overbuilt" for an electronic kit, as the electronic trigger pads, are not nearly as heavy as their acoustic counter parts. I could see these being offered in a lighter material version. Also, due to the disparity of "L" arm sizes, ( 9.5,10.5, 12mm and larger,I had to ream out the eyebolts that are installed on the trigger pad mounting brackets, as is the case with Alesis, which uses 9.5mm L arms.

Comments about Gibraltar Ball Arm Pad Mount:

works well with getting rid of the bass drum mounts. I just used my cymbal stands with some mounting clamps and I was good to go. They are ajustable and give my set a more professional look. I like it. They seem to hold my 10" and 12" toms with no problem

        Better than the Tama

Comments about Gibraltar Ball Arm Pad Mount:

It's a tom mount. I can't get excited enough about it to give it a 10. ha
I added this Gibraltar mount to my setup so that I could mount my 10" tom, a second ride and an 18" crash on ONE stand instead of 3. This really makes life easier for gigging. There's less weight to carry and packing up is easier.
When I looked at Gibraltar's website, this mount appeared to have a better range of motion than the two Tama MTH900AS Short Tom Mounts that I bought from MF. The Tama's don't raise up high enough inside the ball mount before the tom arm comes into contact with the top edge of the mounting socket, but the Gibraltar goes quite a bit higher.
This is exactly what I needed for my toms, because I like to angle them in towards me.
The Gibraltar is a quality piece of hardware and holds my tom solidly. The arm has a continuous gnurled surface, not vertical grooves like on the Tama arms, so when the eyebolt is tightened down onto the arm, the tom will not swing horizontally. This can be a problem with the Tama mount.
If you're looking for a good way to mount your L rod tom from a stand, this is a pretty good choice. It's also $5 less than the Tama.
I'm using a Yamaha 3 hole mount to hold all this. Works great.
