I don't usually write reviews, but this pedal really blew me away with the sound, build quality and features that it had for the money. This is my first tremolo pedal and I was looking for something cheap since I didn't think I was going to be using it so much. Low and behold, I'm addicted to the sound that this nifty little pedal creates. **There is a very slight volume boost when engaged but I do find this beneficial when playing with my band since I cut through the mix more** That being said, this pedal goes from subtle to hard-hitting tremolo breakup with a simple turn of a knob. Don't hesitate with buying this pedal because for the money, it doesn't get any better than this!
It features a speed, depth," and a knob which lets you choose a hard or soft waveform. It claims to be ""true bypass"" which I do believe it to be since I don't notice any tone suck. I'm running 8 other true bypass pedals with the exception of my Nova Repeater which has a nice buffer. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a flashing LED light nor is it tap-tempo", but that's just me asking for more than what I paid for.
Feels like a sturdy and heavy piece of die-cast metal that can be stepped on for years to come. The switch feels sturdy and reliable with a nice, loud click when pressed. The pots feel secure as well, not loose or flimsy.
I can't stress how much of a steal/bargain this pedal really is. Most people would be diswayed by the brand or price (not saying that Danelectro is a bad effects company), but looking up YouTube demos and reviews really solidified my choice in purchasing this pedal.

I had to return the pedal because of a faulty unit. In bypass mode it didn't pass a signal.

When the unit was on, the tone was great. But there are some design issues.

1) The pedal is bigger than it should be.

2) The knobs are difficult to reach. Possibly a plus if you only need one trem speed in a set, because you definitely wouldn't accidentally change the settings with your foot.

3) The switch is quite tough to activate.

4) The square wave has no depth.

Rehousing the unit would fix 1-3, but for my money, I'll go with the Joyo, and probably mod it a bit.

Bought the tremolo unit a week ago, plugged it in my Peavey Renown 400 amp and the controls did what they said however the hum & added noise was unacceptable.

I have a Gibson Discoverer Tremolo practice tube amp and there's no comparison. I sent it back.

Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CT-1 Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

Super value for the money, it is true bypass, & good traditional tone. The only problem is - even with no trem effect dialed in - there is a very noticeable signal drop when engaged, which is unacceptable. There is a tiny level pot in the device as documented on the internet which could be adjusted, but a user must dismantle the pedal to get at that circuit board & would certainly void any warranty. I returned it & got the Voodoo Labs pedal with user-adjustable level balancing.

This pedal has an amazing tremolo sound and for the price, it can't be beat. Before I bought this pedal, I had a Guyatone tremolo pedal and the volume 'boost' was so awful (I believe they were trying to compensate for the typical volume drop-off that many tremolo pedals have). This pedal, however, has no volume boost or drop off and it sounds amazing with other pedals.

I have bought other Danelectro pedals and been happy. With this one I truly feel you get what you pay for. It functions but if I had it to do again I would have spent more and bought a higher quality unit.

This has a metal enclosure, sturdy switch, and quality (MUCH better than the old plastic Dano I have). It sounds great and does everything that you expect a tremolo pedal to do - easy to dial in with the sound you want (anywhere from subtle to trippy). It's kinda ugly but that's okay.

Very well built, excellent sound quality, and very well-built and durable. If you are looking for a tremelo pedal without having to spend mass amounts of cash, this is the pedal for you!
