I keep all of my main horns on On-Stage Trombone Stands at home (including my small tenor, large tenor and bass bone, also a flugelbone and my trumpet). I've used the stands for about ten years now and they're still solid (a piece of foam rubber came off of one is all), but they fold up a bit unwieldy. The legs fold down and they don't lock in place, so the "folded" stand is long and the legs tend to swing loose, making the actual utility of folding the stand questionable at best. I've used an On-Stage Trombone Stand for an occasional gig without any problems, but I much prefer my UMI Precision Trombone Stand for any gigs other than with chamber groups where there aren't generally a lot of people milling about or schlepping their gear around your exposed, free-standing horn (the UMI legs stick out too much for leaving horns on stands at home). I would NOT recommend an On-Stage Trombone Stand for a bass bone at a gig, but they're great for home use.

I have one or two of these. Also have K&M and Hamiltons. Prefer the K&M of the same type as OnStage. The spring under the bell cup serves no purpose except to make the trombone less stable on the stand. You want the trombone to sit down, not go up. Also, the tightening nut is big and flexible. It doesn't really allow you to properly tighten the stand.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Trombone Stand:

Took this on a 9-day tour in Scotland and it was perfect for traveling- lightweight, sturdy, durable, and easy to set up. Highly recommend, especially if weight is an issue.

Durable, esay to use, light weight. Everything you want in a trombone stand. But unsteady for Bass Trombone use.

Works fine for me, and it's inexpensive. I use it for outdoor concerts on concrete pavement, so I definitely don't want my t-bone falling over.
