Comments about MXL Genesis Studio Tube Condenser Microphone:

This is a great mic lot's of haters because it's MXL don't always blame the mic. Check you signal chain and pre amp as well as the acoustic treatment/placement as well. You can use it on vocals and other instruments as i have this mic sounds great and i would recommend this to anyone. While trying to compare this to mics that cost thousands more would be silly it can compare to some much higher priced mics. Overall i am very happy with this and use this as one of my primary vocal mics.

    Pure tube sound

    By StudioRyde

    from Montreal, Canada

Comments about MXL Genesis Studio Tube Condenser Microphone:

I have an Apex 460. The Genesis is more silky and true for vocals, exactly what I wanted. Cardioid only, not a problem for me. The power supply is a little bit noisy and the Mogami cord is only 15' long though. An excellent vocal microphone that I strongly recommend.

    Good Deal, Great Mic

    By Bad Apple

    from Houston Texas

Comments about MXL Genesis Studio Tube Condenser Microphone:

I bought this mic based solely on user reviews, I love the way it sounds. Thanks for the reviews, glad I listened. this mic is great for voice overs, and for rich vocals. Not as true to sound as I was hoping for, but for the price it is hard to beat. It looks beautiful, and is just a good bargain. The pop filter that comes with this is useless as far as I am concerned, I use it purely to set the distance for a real pop screen, strongly recommended

    Solid mic

    By GearNerd

    from USA

Comments about MXL Genesis Studio Tube Condenser Microphone:

This is a good mic... I would compare it to the Rode NTK... However, it does not compete with the Neumann u87, an AKG C12, or even mics like the Rode Classic II. But, for the price you are getting a solid mic that will perform well on acoustic instruments and vocals.

    MXL Genesis Rating

    By supremacii

    from Alaska

Comments about MXL Genesis Studio Tube Condenser Microphone:

The summary of this microphone is on point, it DOES rival mics costin' thousands more. This is not exactly my go to microphone but for a $600 mic, the quality of your recordings seem like they come from a $6000 mic. Buy this microphone and you won't be disappointed, it is clearly unique.
