Wrong product, bad service

By tjmoore

About Me Experienced

Comments about Toontrack EZdrummer:

I hate to write a review like this, but Musician's Friend Customer Service refuses to correct their mistake. I recently tried to order the downloadable version of EZdrummer that was offered with a rebate for a free expansion pack. I received the right license key for the expansion pack, but the key for EZdrummer was for the Lite Upgrade. I do not have EZdrummer Lite, so this does me no good, nor was that the advertised product. Customer Service basically told me that was too bad and I was then offered the full version at a small discount for my trouble, which I had already paid for. What a slap in the face. I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on.

Not Easy

About Me Novice

Comments about Toontrack EZdrummer:

I bought this non-refundable software after a Guitar Center sales associate convinced me "1000%" that EZdrummer is compatible with Cubase LE 5. Not true. According to Toontrack, Cubase Light Edition is not compatible with EZdrummer. I contacted the GC associate, and he's still convinced that the two softwares are compatible. We meet at GC, and he shows me the technical shortcut to install EZdrummer into Cubase LE 5. At this point, things are looking up. When I got home, I plugged in my Lexicon Alpha sound card to my computer, opened up Cubase LE 5 and EZdrummer. I spent the next couple of hours trying to get signal. The next day, I emailed a screen shot of Cubase LE 5 interfacing with EZdrummer along with a description of the most current problem I'm having. They tell me the issue is related to the audio driver. First, Toontrack says the two softwares are not compatible, and now my audio driver is the issue. More trouble than it's worth. I'm going to sell EZdrummer.

EZ DRUMMER/ Drumkit From Hell expansion

By ESPstrangelet

About Me Experienced

Comments about Toontrack EZdrummer:

The software does exactly what it is advertised to do. No complaints. I am using EZ Drummer alongside Steven Slate drums to compose from my DAW. My only word of advice or caution is this:

***The confirmation email from Musician's Friend that included my digital download key said, and this is Cut/Paste from their email..

Please note, you will need a Pace iLok in order to use your new Waves, Softube, Toontrack, and Samplelogic software. You may be asked to create an account prior to downloading.

!!!GUYS, YOU DO NOT NEED AN iLok TO RUN TOONTRACKS EZ DRUMMER, SO DON"T GO ORDER THE EXTRA ITEM THE EMAIL SAYS YOU NEED!!!

My EZ DRUMMER is up and running fine, and it never once asked for the iLok to run, though I jumped through a hoop to acquire one and register it.

So. No complaints about the software. I would recommend it, but the information about requirements (from Musician's Friend) is not quite accurate.

The best sounding drum software

    Comments about Toontrack EZdrummer:

I purchased EZDrummer on sale as a digital download. Even though it did take a few hours to get the serial number, it was still worth the wait. I also ran into a problem where ToonTrack gave out bad numbers to Musician's Friend and both Musician's Friend and ToonTrack were very prompt at assisting me. Anyway, the software works great on my MacBook and you need other software to run this, it is not a stand alone application. You need to have another application to load EZDrummer like GarageBand. It works with GarageBand and I also use it with software called Reaper. The only thing that I was a little disappointed about was that you can't edit the drum MIDI files in EZDrummer itself, but I did research before buying the program and was willing to spend a little extra if I needed. GarageBand also does not allow you to edit the MIDI files easily and sometimes not at all. Reaper allows you to use an evaluation version and I found that it is very easy to add to exisitng files. I use EZDrummer for my instrumental project and the drums sound amazing!

    Comments about Toontrack EZdrummer:

I've used the demo version before, when I seen the full software download for a cheap price, I couldn't pass the chance. You do have to wait a couple hours for MF to email you the serial number, and then it directs you to their website. download/register product, and just copy the Serial# to the site and begin downloading. Once you download the zipped file, extract it, and if you are using a DAW software it should recognize it. I use Presonus Studio 1 Producer 2 and it recognized it right away. After it is installed, open it up and you will have to copy a Autorization code, and paste it on their site to fully register it and use the program.

I've reached a writers block, and having limited practices every other week, and with this software, it makes it easier coming up with riffs when my drummer is absent. For the price you can't beat it. Downloading it isn't a headache, if you know what you are doing, and if MF sends you the serial number via email promptly.

    Comments about Toontrack EZdrummer:

Note that it will probably take a couple of hours to get your activation code in the email after you order from MF but no wait if you order directly from ToonTracks. Sorry MF that's just the way it is.Other than that this software is excellent. Easy to use and sounds amazing. There are a ton of youtube demos that will show you more than I can relay to you here so go do a search for ezdrummer and watch some of those guys.I also use the expansions Nashville, Songwriter, and Songwriter Fills and WILL be buying more as $ permits but at roughly $30 for expansion its a lot of bang for your buck.

    Not True

    By Stephen Nixon

    from Undisclosed

    Comments about Toontrack EZdrummer:

Not an instant download as claimed
It says something to the effect of, why wait start right away with the download version, well not true! After purchasing I was told it can take up to 24 hours to receive the download. So I received a fifteen dollar credit for having to wait until tomorrow and NO WHERE is this listed on the site!
