Good Modeling

By GF

from Los Angeles

Comments about Waves GTR3 Native:

Overall this is a great guitar/bass recording setup that you can get all sorts of tones.
I like the dual topology, as you can mix " amps " and make complex tones. Some other brands of guitar / Bass modeling suites tend to dumb things down for guitar players. Not this one, and the effects are more expensive sounding than the crappy cheap stomp box sound. You can acheive some great tones with added effects.I wish they had some rack style effects to add as well.
With a little tweaking you can get very musical, reactive patches going. In thae past the clean tones were hard to get right but now these are as good as the heavier tones.
For the price, this is an absolute steal even if you have other modeling softwares, this is a good thing to have for variations in tones. For the money dont thing twice buy it.

Worth the money

By JG3000

Comments about Waves GTR3 Native:

I would have given it a 10 if the effects were more developed but they give you so much for the money that it's really a petty complaint.
The amp and cabinet simulations are very good. I don't like all of them but that is a matter of taste. You are bound to find at least a few sounds you can use on a regular basis. I like the Waves interface. It's simple, logical and easy to use. The included effects are good. I think that you'll probably want to get some third party effects. In particular you may want a dedicated delay/echo plugin like Soundtoy's Echoboy. At $80 I would say this is a bargain. I don't like the ILok dongle but I haven't had a problem with it.
Sounds very good.
At $80 this is a steal.

Awesome amp plugin

By skiltrip

from New City, NY

Comments about Waves GTR3 Native:

I have used a handful of the current most popular amp sim plugins, and this is hands down my favorite. The only down side is you have to remember what their amp names correspond to in the real amp world. For example, that "Edgy" is a Vox AC30, things like that. Other than that, the sound of this plugin just seals the deal. Very smooth, clear, loud, polished even. Really lush presets that are fun as heck to use. Another very cool feature is all the plugin elements are available as separate plugins if you want. So you can just load the Stomp plugin to use the stompbox chain with drums, vocals, synths, or whatever else. Extremely useful plugin that I get a LOT of use out of.

This stinks!

By Fussmann

from Germany

Comments about Waves GTR3 Native:

The need for an iLock USB key and software in order to use this software is ridiculous. I paid good money for this software and should be able to activate and use it without having to buy an additional piece of hardware that only takes up an additional USB port.
