Comments about Allora Paris Series Professional Straight Soprano Saxophone with 2 Necks:

I have wanted a soprano saxophone for about 40 years. At one time, I played tenor but I have not played much over the last 20 years. I researched all of the different internet sales sites and read the reviews for all of the different horns. The Allora Paris seemed to be my best choice in a "starter" price range. I even listed to the horn play in a short video before I ordered.
The horn is beautify and feels sturdily made. I have been playing it for a little over a month now and I am still developing my embouchure. I checked the horns intonation with a tuner and I am able the horn appeared to be in tune. I also had a 20-year veteran saxophone player/technician at the local music store check the horn and it had no leaks or set-up problems.
The Allora Paris is providing me with a wonderful horn to recapture my love of music. The two different necks do provide different tonal colors and the mouthpiece that comes with the horn can be used but I would recommend upgrading the mouthpiece - especially if your embouchure is not strong. The original mouthpiece has a short facing and a small tip opening which needs about a 3.5 reed hardness. I purchased a Vandoren V16-S8 hard rubber mouthpiece and a 2.5 reed works great.

      POOR WORKMANSHIP

Comments about Allora Paris Series Professional Straight Soprano Saxophone with 2 Necks:

Bought this horn for my daughter as her Piano ARCT graduation gift. V-disappointed with the quality. My daughter struggled with this instrument. We took it to service/repair shop to check it out. To our surprise, the pads leak and need to be replaced. There may be other issues after the repair. This suppose to be a brand NEW horn!! I am returning this item as it's still within the 45 days return policy. The quality control and workmenship for Allora is wonky and poor. I will not choose this brand for sure.

Comments about Allora Paris Series Professional Straight Soprano Saxophone with 2 Necks:

Sax arrived as scheduled. Ordering by phone was excellent. The thumbrest for the octave key fell off - not glued well. Discussed with customer service and immediately came up with an acceptable solution (one of which was anfull exchange). I do have problems with the pitch however, believe more of me getting use to the horn since all experience is on a tenor and dates a few years.

        Beautiful & Great Sound!

        By Honked-A-Few-Horns

Comments about Allora Paris Series Professional Straight Soprano Saxophone with 2 Necks:

Having experience with other soprano saxophones including a Yani, I highly recommend this Allora Paris! The instrument is beautiful (I got the black nickel/silver plate keys) and has a great sound! The intonation is outstanding, and I like the ease of play it offers allowing ability to bend/waver notes for expression. In light of this ease for expressive playing--if you're a novice with soprano saxophones and you attempt to check the tune and intonation bear in mind to be consistent and even with your air projection when testing... (what I mean is don't underrate this horn because you didn't use the same evenness on each note you test and you actually cause the note to miss the mark.) I've played saxophone for over 20 years, so I do have some experience.
