Buffet Crampon Model 4052 Intermediate Oboe  

This oboe is stoutly built, and good looking.  It is hard tell the quality of the Grenadilla, because Buffet dyes and polishes the finish so heavily, but it looks decent quality.  Keywork is exquisite. Intonation is exceptionally good, tone is beautiful, and the factory adjustment was perfect.  The tenon  cork is mediocre quality (shame, Buffet!), but all-in-all, a very nice instrument.   It is not a bargain, but as oboes go, you get your money's worth, and more. Caution: the warranty is advertised here as "10 years limited";  the Buffet warranty card provides for two years only on this instrument.
