Comments about Giardinelli Alto Saxophone Care Kit:

For the main body cleaner, I had to add a cloth under the main body cleaner to absorb the moisture better when I pull. Have to use a paper towel to soak up the moisture from the neck cleaner cotton end.

The neck cleaner is the part that I do not really like a lot. The fiber seems to shed and does not really do a good job absorbing moisture, again paper towel to the rescue to absorb the moisture from that end. I use more paper towel to clean the mouthpiece, use the cork grease every time which is a standard chapstick type tube so nothing exciting there.

The other two little brushes, one is like a pine cone of bristles and the other is like a paint brush, I do not quite know yet what to do with. But my guess is they are for the mouthpiece and keypads. But the moisture does not really go anywhere if you use those with the mouthpiece, so go figure... overall its an OK package. I am still using it with my own modifications, so you will still find use for it as it is... my suggestion is to look on youtube for sax cleaning videos, and you will know what to do with them.

But no one tells you - never force the main cleaner out the tube, it could damage the pads, never leave the reed on the mouthpiece to dry out, it needs to go back into its casing to dry out, always go from the bell to the top, you must clean every time after you play, no exceptions... so keep it up and keep it clean, it will last a long time and you could get a good resale value when you do decide to upgrade from a student sax to a better sax...
