- Usually very high quality...not this time.
- For the price I would expect more consistancy.
Comments about Harry Hartmann Fiberreed Tenor Saxophone Hemp Reed:
I've been using Harry Hartmannn's hemp Fiberreeds for tenor, bari and soprano since they became available. I found them to be very consistent from reed to reed. This is something I would expect for the price per reed. I recently purchased three tenor reeds an two soprano online from Musicians Friend. The tenor reeds seemed totally different from what I previously ordered and use with satisfaction. Out of the three I ordered one seemed a bit softer than previously purchase medium strength reeds and the other two being totally unusable. Out of those two one seemed very unresponsive and the other was coarse and seemed unfinished and had a uncontrollable response. I've spent a lot experimenting with different reeds before settling on these and hope this is just a fluke. I can not afford to continue paying the price it cost for these reeds to experience this type of inconsistency.
