    I have used 3 Johns Bassoon Reeds and all three of them have had major issues. I used two in High School my senior year because my first company was out of stock on there reeds. Then the last time I was trying out for college band. The first 2 reeds I had help getting fixed with my private instructor and they worked fine after a lot of major adjustments and shaving. The last one was so bad that when you played it just squeaked didn't even make a note just squeaks, after adjusting it worked fine for about a week then the reed gave out and quit working. I wouldn't recommend this reed to anyone unless you want to practice fixing them.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
