Comments about Jupiter 767GL Deluxe Alto Saxophone:
This sax was my first sax and fit my playing style then. After a year, my G# key broke and a couple bridges broke as well. After a few months after repair, I had the same problem. I handle all my instruments with care but this one wouldn't hold up so I switched to a Cannonball. I did really appreciate the F# key.
Comments about Jupiter 767GL Deluxe Alto Saxophone:
Yes Jupiters are hard to play... I've owned this sax for about seven years now it has yet to fail me. Playing a hard to play sax is the best thing to do because. When you move up to a professional grade horn every note comes out with ease. Now playing a custom Jupiter alto, bari & tenor I play all with now effort. Playing my beginner Jupiter was the best thing to jump start my musical career I've worked up the lung capacity and coordination to play the best.
Comments about Jupiter 767GL Deluxe Alto Saxophone:
Jupiter saxes are very, very hard to play. Yes, the action is the same as any sax, but it takes an incredible amount of wind to get any sound out of it. When I was in school, I had a Jupiter, and I needed the pads replaced, so I played one of the school saxes while it was being repaired. I found the school sax to be twice as easy to play. I couldn't even get a sound out of a 4 reed on the Jupiter. I have no idea why these Jupiters are so hard to play, but if you don't have an incredible amount of wind, don't attempt buying this sax.
Comments about Jupiter 767GL Deluxe Alto Saxophone:
I am a beginner and was playing on a Bundy II. I decided to upgrade to a Jupiter and wow what a difference. The keywork and tone really is an improvement over the Bundy... makes you want to pick it up and play. This is not a cheaply made horn even though the price is would suggest that. It actually feels heavier than the Bundy. The quality of build is very good for an inexpensive horn. Good spring tension with no slop in the pivot rods and the pads all sealed right out of the box. Forget about the inexpensive silver keyed student models and check this one out. The sound will build your confidence and take you farther than a student model in the same price range.
Comments about Jupiter 767GL Deluxe Alto Saxophone:
When I first received this sax in the mail I noticed that one of the keys was not working, so we took it to a shop and the guy told us he couldn't fix it. So I called the company and they took it back with hardly any questions and sent me a new one within two weeks. It has a nice sound, and it's really easy to play. Low register is really good, and high is decent enough, sometimes a little hard to switch from low to high or visa-versa very quickly. Beautiful, and a great value...

Comparing it to a bundy it's a great difference. You're are more free to do your own stuff!
Comments about Jupiter 767GL Deluxe Alto Saxophone:
This was my first saxaphone and it has done a great job. After one year of learning I just did a sax solo in a piece at church (a jazzy Christmas piece) and the 767 blew it out! It blends well with the band and in the low register punches out a full sound. Great value, the horn is still in perfect condition, nothing has broken or come loose.
