I play in an eclectic indie/gypsy/alt band where I switch from guitar to sax for a quick solo, or for a whole song at times... Before I had to put down my guitar hook my neck strap, pick the sax off of my floor stand, and it just became a hassle, especially for that quick solo... I ordered this tall stand in hopes that it would fix that, and it worked perfectly. Its a sturdy stand but be careful if you are using a clip-on mic because it sits a little awkwardly with one. It also takes up a good amount of space in my setup, and takes a little practice to get comfortable. Now I can leave my guitar strapped on and lean over for a much needed sax solo during the jam, so this is a must have for multi-instrumentalists!

This stand is excellent and has served me well on stage for over 2 yrs. Folds up quickly and packs nicely in gig bag with all the other mic stands and such. It holds the horn up and off the floor and makes it easy for the doubler (me) and easy on the back. For the money, you can't go wrong. Recommend it for sure!

I do a switcharoo between guitar and tenor sax when I play live. I have had the stand for four or five years and set it up next to my pedal board to access sax for a quick solo. The 4.5 rating for quality is because the threads on the tightening knob stripped, but heck, I just went to the hardware store and got a new thumbscrew. Works great now! The height is adjustable and the sax will also tilt in the stand to fit your playing style.

I have been using these tall stands for about five years now for my tenor, alto and even my curved soprano. They are built extremely well and are heavy duty. As a working sax player Iam forever setting up and breaking down my gear.These things never give me any trouble AND for me the TALL STANDS are the ideal for anyone who has to changes horns quickly. They are at my hand level at all times and switching saxes is a breeze. I've never had one knocked over either. They are completely adjustable so you can get as wide a base as you like and just the right height too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these to any sax player.They are VERY COOL!!!
