Comments about P. Mauriat PMXT-66R Series Professional Tenor Saxophone:
Have played flute for 40 years or so and decided to learn tenor sax.
After just a day or so of owning this beautiful instrument(it is truly a work of art...dark laquer) was getting some amazing tones.Have had it for 2 months now and have replaced the mouthpiece that came with it with an Otto Link ToneMaster and am playing it on the stage regularly and the tone, quality of sound, and ease of play is just blowing me away.If you're looking for a sweet sounding Jazz sax, this may not be the horn for you but if you want a big, ballsy, blues sound at a fantastic price this tenor Rocks.
Comments about P. Mauriat PMXT-66R Series Professional Tenor Saxophone:
After playing flute professionally for many years, have finally jumped into seriously playing tenor sax.Have dabbled in playing sax (only alto) in the past so have the basic rudiments down but in just one weeks time, the tones and runs I am able to pull off on this instrument are truly amazing. As I said , haven't played much sax in the past but the quality, tone, and action with this instrument are just blowing me away. The horn (black laquer) has the look and tone of a classic tenor from the past (think Ray Charles).Everything about this horn including the case speaks quality. Will be checking out some different mouthpieces soon but the one that came with this horn works very well for my abilities at the time.If you're looking for a classic sounding tenor that really honks, this may be the one for you.
