The groundbreaking PS-750 Powell Sonaré piccolo pioneers a new class of piccolo that builds on a long tradition of quality at Verne Q. Powell Flutes.
While the PS-750 appears distinctly different, it adheres to its deep roots and maintains the Powell Sound. Every facet of this instrument has been sculpted by the innovators and flute makers at Powell Flutes.
The art deco stainless steel mechanism provides a strong, stable platform for even the most delicate of players. The rectangular touch pieces also encourage a more ergonomic hand position. As an added benefit, stainless steel will not tarnish.
The PS-750 is available in three shades of a beautifully grained and tinted American hardwood stabilized with an phenolic resin. This American hardwood is resonant and remains stable through severe temperature and humidity changes.
This exciting new instrument is completely made at the Powell workshop in Maynard, Massachusetts by Powell's skilled artisans.
All Powell Sonaré piccolos feature a 10 year warranty on cracking.

This is not a review or condemnation of MF, but rather of Powell. Tried to buy this piccolo in Amethyst for my wife, turns out the product was vaporware and was recalled. She found one locally, it was cosmetically rough but have to be honest it did sound good. So, ordered one from a reputable dealer. It showed up fatally flawed with a poorly cut headjoint with a painfully sharp embouchure hole, the tenon attached in reverse!, and overall poor sound.
It was in our possession for 30 minutes...just long enough to get a return authorization to Powell. Then the fun starts. They were dismissive, rude, and displayed the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The initial conversation started 'well some folks are just more picky than others.' Umm...no, we should not be your beta testers.
They were supposed to let us know options for fixing or replacing it, but never contacted us until the dealer finally got them to send an email. Turns out they cut on the headjoint and tried to jury-rig a fix. We have appealed to the dealer who is making it right by letting us get a product from another brand. Buyer beware of Powell!
This was a once respeced brand that has seemingly lost its way. If you are in the market to spend a modest sum of money for a piccolo, look elsewhere. There have also been reports of the color running on black and amethyst models, and their prior attempts to offer ceramic coating of the keys was an abysmal failure as well. Not ready for prime time + rude customer service does not equal success.
