Comments about Rico Royal Tenor Saxophone Reeds:
I use several different reeds for the given situation. I use Rico Hemke reeds for wind ensemble, Vandorean Java for Jazz band and sax quartet, and Rico Royal for marching. The Royals are by far the best for marching. They come in large boxes so you have spare yet they dont break as often as other reeds. They also have a sound that can be used for anything. They arnt the cheapest reeds but nowhere near the most expensive, again perfect for marching.

Comments about Rico Royal Tenor Saxophone Reeds:
I just bought these reeds and I love them. Before i bought these, I used the reeds our school provided but I decided i wanted to get something better. I had looked in other stores but they were too expensive. I found this website and it offered them at a fair price so I bought them. I don't regret this purchase and neither will you.

Comments about Rico Royal Tenor Saxophone Reeds:
I resumed playing tenor and alto sax after a long break, and the Rico reeds I purchased made my comeback as easy as possible. The price here on Musician's Friend was also the best I could find.

Comments about Rico Royal Tenor Saxophone Reeds:
I have been using Rico Royal since college (masters in music performance) and even though I always used a #5 and now 35 years later use a #3.5, I still find the R.R. to give the best overall performance. The altissio register and the low Bb respond great while the consistency in between is always there. My friend "Boots Randolph" used the regular rico in a 2.5 and depending on the gig I do often times follow his advice regarding the reed, but I still love the performance for the R.R. 3.5 overall. A reed you can depend on! K.B. of Birmingham, Al
Comments about Rico Royal Tenor Saxophone Reeds:
I have used this brand for many years now and have tried other brands, including the Rico Jazz Select, to see how they stack up to the Rico Royals, but find myself coming back to RR because I get the best consistancy in strength from reed to reed which means I spend more time playing and less time modifying reeds to respond well. They have good overall tonal quality and response. In my opinion, they are the best in value for the money. There are higher priced reeds that have certain characteristics that are marginally better, but I believe that the price doesn't justify what I consider a small increase in their tonal characteristics, consistancy, and playability. Overall, I can recommend these reeds to anyone who is serious about their playing and want best value.
