            I bought one of these reeds, by suggestion, when I purchased a new mouthpiece. I was so impressed I bought a box. I have given away half the ones I purchased and they are used by those players as their "special reed" for concerts. They're that good. I have never had one that wasn't ready to put on a mouthpiece and get the best tone possible.

            Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

            Better than Rico Regulars

            A reed is an acquired taste, and though I have tried most of the others, Rico has always been my brand. No explaination, they just work for me.30 years ago, I used to play good ol' Rico reeds right out of the orange box in slabs of 25. About 15 years ago, they suddenly began to separate the brand into Regular, Select, and Select Jazz. If you are a pro or just serious, the Selects are worth the money, but I can't tell the difference between the Select or Select Jazz. The orange box is best reserved for kids and beginners who wouldn't know the difference.
