The Ridenour Clarinet Thumb Saddle reduces tension, increases relaxation and endurance and promotes correct hand position. You'll never play the clarinet again without it!

The Ridenour Thumb Saddle eliminates the "pinch" tension between the thumb and fingers by simply opening the hand up. The increased openness promotes the needed relaxation without throwing the thumb and fingers out of balance. The curved fingers promote a much more efficient finger motion and increased endurance

Not really helpful at all

Comments about Ridenour Clarinet Thumb Saddle:

After reading several reviews for this product online I ordered it to see if the claims were true. After trying it twice I was very displeased and haven't used it again since. It was very bulky and seemed to be more of a bother than a help. Although I can see how this might work for some players, I got no use out of it whatsoever.

clarinet thumb rest

By Community User

from Undisclosed

Comments about Ridenour Clarinet Thumb Saddle:

Fine unit but because of my inexperience in clarinet terminology and the picture advertised showed the thumb rest and metal thumb rest together , I thought the rubber saddle came with a metal clip to attach to clarinet. I then had to order a metal thumb rest which took another few days. If it has been for a custumer of mine the delay would be inconvienient. Just saying thumb rest attaches to metal thumb rest will expedite for other inexperienced ,budding terminologists. thanx!! God Bless

Comments about Ridenour Clarinet Thumb Saddle:

Alleviates thumb pressure and takes weight off wrist, all the while establishing a more open hand position. A lifesaver for oboists playing today's heavier bodied instruments.

Comments about Ridenour Clarinet Thumb Saddle:

I have used the little square, spongy thumb rest pad for years and was starting to experience pain in my thumb. Saw this and decided to give it a try. I have used it for probably a total of 30 hours and so far am pleased with the purchase. I can still fit the lower joint in the case without having to take off before packing up.

        It does the job

Comments about Ridenour Clarinet Thumb Saddle:

Doesn't look classy, but it does what I wanted it to do. I have large hands and the thumb saddle opened up my grip and better positions my finger tips for easier playing.

Comments about Ridenour Clarinet Thumb Saddle:

I had used many "stick on" thumb guards.including some that I made myself.Discomfort whilst playing causes distraction. With this guard there is no
discomfort. The price was resonable too.
