I bought these reeds for my daughter for day-to-day practice on her clarinet. The clarinet came with a set of three regular (traditional) Vandoren reeds. She could barely make a sound with those. With 56 Rue Lepic she makes good quality sounds, and they last longer. Very good reeds!

I have not been able to find another brand of reeds to compare to the consistency of this reed.
This brand of Vandoren reed is so consistent that you very seldom need to do much work on the reed at all. Open the package and every read I have tried responds, good grain and excellent hearts.
Tone is mellow, and deep and rich in sound a very good reed for orchestral and concert band performing.
A little more expensive but vey worth the money because you are not throwing away 50% or more of a mormal box because of flaws. Every reed int the box witll respond.

i love the way these reeds sound! i bought some just a couple of days ago and only have been playing them for a couple of days and i am definitely sure these reeds are the best ive used so far. i would recommend anyone to use these reeds.

These are quiet possibly the best reeds Vandoren has to offer. Quality and sound is superb and the reeds themselves are very durable. I play on a 3 myself and it sounds amazing. I have been playing on the same reed for about two weeks now and it still sounds just as sweet.

For the past three years I had switched around playing different instruments for high school band but ultimately I ended up back at clarinet this year, which is my original instrument. I bought a box of these reeds and used my first one in the beginning of September. Now it is mid November and I am still playing the same reed! It still looks and plays as though it is brand new but broken in. I am absolutely amazed at the quality of these reeds. I'm just disappointed that I bought a box of ten reeds and will probably only use two more this year!

I've been using these reeds for about a year now, and they are the best reeds I have ever used. I reccomend checking the Vandoren reed comparison chart on the Vandoren webpage first, as (for example) the Vandoren Traditional's 3.5 is a different strangth from the Vandoren 56 Rue de Lepic's 3.5 - I myself use a 3.5+ and it sings beautifully.

About a year ago, a friend gave me two 56 Rue de Lepic reeds. When I put them on and tried them out, I found them to be the best reeds I had ever played. They play easily through the register. They sing in the altissimmo, and produce a full, rich sound in the low ranges. I highly recommend this product to any serious musician.
