Terrific little stand
Unlike the other reviewers so far, I love this stand. It's super light weight, easy to assemble and holds a big gig book.

I was looking for a stand that is easy to set up and take down for jams, and is rigid enough to stay upright and not wobble too much. This is a well conceived stand that folds up into a single portable piece. However, the three locking grips for extension and locking the legs are either poorly designed, or something was wrong with the plastic mix that day. When the levers are rotated, they are designed such that a series of plastic ribs progressively pinch up against the center post to tighten. After just a few uses, about half of the ribs on one of the locks broke off. That section of post can now only be semi-locked in the down, non-extended position. If this were the leg locks, the entire stand would be useless. As it is, it's usable as a leave-it-at-home stand, and my old, all metal stand has reverted back to gig use.

Comments about Cordoba Precision Music Stand:
I like it for a lightweight & easily portable stand that will go quite low (or high) and tips forward enough so the audience does not feel the stand is between you and them. However, it will not support very much weight; the knobs do not tighten enough to keep from sliding downwards if you have a heavy music book on it. The little holders to keep pages down or from blowing away broke off within a year or two of use. I use it nearly daily.

Comments about Cordoba Precision Music Stand:
Bought more than half price on sale (SDOTD). I didn't read the description closely enough and just went off the photo and original price. Based on catalog photo, I assumed the music sheet holder was solid and had 2 sheets of music on display. Wrong. The white in the photo was a white background behind the stand. The sheet holder is a cheap flimsy web of thin metal that's supposed to fold / unfold, but the metal pieces seem to snag on each other, and I'm afraid I'm going to break it. I can't fathom how this item was almost double the cost of a solid conductor's stand. My biggest disappointment is customer service said I'd have to pay almost as much as the item cost to return it (it seems their return policy is less forgiving these days). After 10 years and a few thousand grand as a Musician's Friend customer, I've decided I am going to look at Sweetwater or another online retailer.

Comments about Cordoba Precision Music Stand:
I've never had a music stand that benefits from an instruction manual (not included). The arms of the tray have to be positioned in a certain way in order to make sure it opens properly; if they are not positioned properly, the arms will bend with great ease and need to be carefully bent back into place. I was able to get the tray to fold out properly after several guesses, but finding the instructions online were helpful (again, why does a music stand need instructions).
It doesn't fold up precisely, which is fine, but I was expecting something with a better design.

Comments about Cordoba Precision Music Stand:
Tripod part seems stable enough - not so the large book tray. As others have written, it is flimsy of cheap tin and difficult/tight to unfold. Pinched my fingers once or twice, and and not easy to learn how to unfold the tray. Genius design for compacting I suppose, but def not easy to use. Returning it if they let me. No more purchases of items I don't like if I can't return them for free - i.e., if I'm not sure I will like the product.

Comments about Cordoba Precision Music Stand:
Nice little stand to take around. I bought two, one as a gift and one for me. They seem a little flimsy at first but once you get used to how it unfolds it's good for what it is: a portable little stand. Nice if you are on the go and like to practice in between classes or on breaks.

Comments about Cordoba Precision Music Stand:
It took a bit of trying to unfold the stand without bending components of it. Once figured out, it took a few more tries to fold it up without bending it. So long as you're careful opening and closing it, it should be OK for use. However, the wire tabs to hold down pages are a half-inch away from where sheet music would be put on a stand, so are basically worthless except if trying to keep open thick music books. For single sheets, pack plenty of clothes pins.

Comments about Cordoba Precision Music Stand:
Must buy for keeping your new music books open. So frustrating when your music book closes and falls off you table or stands on a piano sheet music build in stand.
