I'm not primarily an acoustic player.
I've played electrics almost exclusively and I play 10's with a low-action setup and it's what I've gotten used to. But I've always wanted to play an acoustic and have it around as a "pass-the-time" guitar. So when I finally bought one (a Martin X1DE) it came setup with 12's which, to me, feel more like cables than strings and they had to go. I tried some Martin 11's but I still hurt more than I played. I tried some Martin "modified" 11's (11-47) and it still felt as if I had to work too hard to play basic things.
Then I came across these D'Addario Extra Lights (10-47). I've always used D'Addario's in my electrics and I love them, so I figured that if I love them for an electric, they're worth a shot for an acoustic.
I put them on and I instantly felt comfortable and I found myself playing (and enjoying) my acoustic far more often than I had before. I no longer feel as if I have to get psyched to play this guitar and I pick it up and play it as naturally as I do my electrics.
Admittedly, the 10's sound somewhat "twangy" right off the bat, but if they're anything like the Phosphor Bronze strings I've been using, they should mellow out after a few weeks and if that happens, I'll be very happy and my left hand won't feel as if I've been kneading dough all day.
Maybe 10's won't "drive" this guitar (as the acoustic highbrow's say) like a set of 12's might and these strings might not cut it in large clubs or arenas. But for my couch or my back porch (or even mic'd up, I'd guess), these D'Addario Extra Lights are just what I needed!

Sorry, I've used these strings before with success and though they sounded great and strobed up after I put them on, I broke the G after the second time I used the guitar. I am a worship leader at a small church and play the strings about 30 minutes on Sundays and two hours per week at team practice. The strings had one service and one practice or about 2.5 hours of use when I broke the G. Usually a string will give me a "warning" when it is about to break but not in this case. Fortunately I am blessed with several guitars so it was not a real problem, just an inconvenience which will influence my opinion of the reliability of D'Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Strings. I have been playing for most of my life professionally and realize that a lot of factors play a part in determining the life of a string, none of which were much of an influence in this case.

Comments about D'Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Strings 3-Pack:
I play an Ovation, as a female player with small fingers who doesn't use a pick, these allow me the added space and playability on the fret board. I love the tone of these strings as well. They're great for woman players!
Comments about D'Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Strings 3-Pack:
If the manufacture is planning to shut the production line down for this string, I would buy 30 set right away.
Title says everything.
I play acoustic guitar like electric guitar. This is the string I can play most of my elec licks with classic without pain.

Comments about D'Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Strings 3-Pack:
I have tried several strings over the years including coated strings and always go back to these - they are just right for me. Best sound, weight and last very well.
I don't plan to bother trying different ones any more.
Comments about D'Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Strings 3-Pack:
These are far lighter than I would ever use, but they made it possible to get a discarded, but very playable, student guitar into the hands of a little girl whose family could not have afforded a guitar otherwise. The mids snap nicely and the highs ring, although they are not loud. The lows have almost too much ring, but remember these were put on small guitar designed to fit in a child's hands. I would estimated it's a 1/2 size. D'Addario's have served me very well over the years with my Epiphone, Gibson, Yamaha, and Seagull acoustics. If you like your strings light, these may be for you.
Got to love the multi-pacs.

Thee strings are fantastic! Bright! Great tone and easy to play! However, I long for the days of XXL 08-42. I don't know why string companies don't manufacture the XXL 08-42 sets any more.

Comments about D'Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Strings 3-Pack:
I use to play professionally, and when you are playing 4 to 5 nights a week, you have very strong fingers, in fact, it's natural, you don't even think about. Now that those days are behind me, I now play once in a while for myself. I have always used light strings, but I found playing once in a while, the fingers really started to hurt, so it dawned on me to try extra light. WOW! What a difference! I might even play more now.

I've used these strings for years with good results. They sound great, especially when they are fresh. The coated strings last longer, but are so much more expensive. Price wise, you come out better with these, as long as you keep changing them.

These strings helped me save a couple of downrange guitars in Afghanistan and the tone was great. I was using EJ17s at home on my acoustics but now I am going to try these to lighten the load on the necks.

Comments about D'Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Strings 3-Pack:
D'Addario are all I use. Great quality and great price. The tone is fantastic. I usually use EJ17s at home on my HD-28 and Epiphone but there was an office guitar left here in Afghanistan that needed some lighter strings. Perfect for this guitar. MF got them to me in a week. I am always pleased with their customer service and been a customer for over 10 years.

Comments about D'Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Strings 3-Pack:
I have used these strings for years. The sealed packaging gives them an incredible shelf life. The only drawback (which is to be expected due to the thin string gage) is the somewhat short useable life. They tend to loose their crystal clear tone a bit sooner than heavier gage strings. I have not yet had a string break once installed. A great string at a very good price.

Comments about D'Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Strings 3-Pack:
I have used many brands of strings and have found these to be the best for my needs. They have a nice tone for a light string. They may not last as long as others but for the money are a good buy. The packaging insures they are "fresh" no matter how long they sit in my case. They also stay in tune very well, even if you bend 'em!
Comments about D'Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Strings 3-Pack:
These strings are bright, warm sounding, with consistent tone, that is long lasting. The gauge particularly well suited to the primarily electric guitarist, or anyone who favours low action and employs a light touch - especially well suited to electro-acoustic guitars, such as Ovation, Godin, Takamine, etc.. If there are better strings out there I'd love to try them.
Comments about D'Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Strings 3-Pack:
After bouncing through several brands, over time I've come to prefer the d'Addario 80/20 bronze, but sometimes interchange with these phosphor bronze. To me they sound just as bright as uncoated (a good thing). These strings get 2-3 hours of play every day and hold their tone nicely for at least 8-10 weeks -- could probably play them longer, but I usually change around that time just from habit. Although I'm not really one to "bang" on the guitar, I've only had one string break out of many packs. The only drawback I've found is that the coating will turn your fingers black for the first few days after you put them on, so don't use your fingertips to scratch your face onstage if you're playing new strings!
Comments about D'Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Strings 3-Pack:
Let me start by saying that I prefer Elixers on my 20 year old Yahmaha. But, at half the price, I'm sticking with D'Addairo EJ15's. They sound very close to the aforementioned brand. Very full and balanced. I highly recommend trying them.
