These strings are great, especially for bends. real smooth, and for the price, they last a long time, considering I've never wiped them. I had put them on my guitar for 2 weeks and then I removed them because I wanted to try other strings, still they weren't one bit dead, so I kept them in the packaging they came with. A month later, I put them back on and they still sounded like the day I removed them! Great! It's been a month now and they're still holding up well! The sound is clear and powerful, however, they have more mids, great for soloing but if you're looking for a scooped metal sound, a good eq should sort that out.

I don't know where all of these positive reviews come from, but every experience I've had with the "nickelsteels" has been horrible.I purchased a new set and put them on one of my guitars (grover tuners, great hardware & set-up). Even after stretching and playing for awhile, I'd tune it up, strike 2 or 3 chords, and the whole guitar would go out of tune. It was impossible to record with or even perform with. This went on for 2-3 weeks until I finally took the (still new) set off and replaced them with something else. A year later or so I found another pack on clearance at a guitar retailer and I thought I'd try them again. I put them on a different guitar (vintage tuners & hardware), and I had a very similar problem. The tuning slips after a few chords, and if you are a lead guitarist, just forget it. The sound of the strings is crisp and bright but all the crispness and cut in the world won't matter if you're playing a poorly-tuned instrument. As I said, I don't know where the positive reviews are coming from but these are the second worst string I've tried next to the dollar-bin Dr. Duck's. Stay away and try Blue Steels instead.

Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
I have used Dean Markleys for over 15 years. Have only broken a string twice in that time. The first time I tried Elixirs, I broke a string after just one week (an inch up from the bridge where I dont even play). Markleys RULE! and they sound great!
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
Dean Markley NickelSteel guitar strings are the best electric guitar strings I have ever played. Nothing else even comes close. The tone and sustain on these things are just unreal!
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
I have played everyone of the major company's strings out there today. Nothing comes close to the durability and long-lasting tone of Dean Markleys. I have been playing for about 22 years now, and they are the only strings I will use.

I play a couple hours everyday. They last without breaking or wearing out fast.
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
I've used every brand of strings and these are the best! They sound, feel and play great!
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
After I put on my Dean Markley strings for the first time before I set intonation, I never had to make any adjustments in that area again. These strings last an extremely long time, and the tone will leave you incredulous.
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
These strings are for classic rock and dreaming players. They're better then my old Fender extra light strings. The high E string broke because it was too light. These are just the right gauge for thousands of songs. Please get this at a music store near you.
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
Good sounding strings but they don't last long. After about 3 hours of playing they sound dead and won't stay in tune. Not good for guitar players who cannot afford to change their strings every week.
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
Overall theyre good ; theyre mainly ( in my opinion ) for blues\rock
Not so good for country
I wish the high E was a little heavier guage.Had it brake on me after a couple of weeks of moderate playing.
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
I bought these strings to go on my American Strat, and as I was tightening the bottom E, the string started coming unwound at the tuner! I probably just got a bad pack, but I'm going to stick with my Ernie Ball's.
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
I've used many different strings, and Dean Markleys are some of the best strings I've tried. I was very surprised at the crisp tone that came from these strings, I really noticed the difference. They stay in tune pretty good, too. Out of all the strings I've tried, the only one's that top them (all things considered) are D'Addarios, and it's not a huge margin between them either.I urge everyone to give Dean Markley strings a try, they might be the strings for you. Plus, they come with a free sticker!
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
Great strings. compared to the stock strings that came w/ my guitar these are amazing. nice and bright, good gain, last long.Perfect strings.
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
These are great strings! They bend very smoothly and easily. I've tried peavys and D'Addarios but I like these the best.
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
I've been using Dean Markley strings for over 20 years and they've never failed me yet. I know there are some other great strings out there but these are an "old standard" that has been used by the likes of Molly Hatchet, Skynyrd, etc. (and you KNOW those guys play the $@#&* out of their strings! so these are good enough for what I do).
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
Normally I use D'Addario's EXL110 (gauges 10-46), But I decided that when I went to the local music store next time, I'd try a set of these, especially seeing that Alex Lifeson uses them too. Well I strung them all on my Les Paul, and I was stretching the strings like I always do, and I go to stretch the High E, and it snaps. There is no way that a brand new string should snap that early into its life, especially when it hasn't even been played on. Just a bad pack I suppose, but for now I'll still stick to my D'Addario's.
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
Not to long ago, I got a set of Dean Markley nickelsteel and blue steel; well I've tried out many other brands of strings before, but the only strings I can say that had the best tones was Dean Markley Blue Steel, so far. When I put on the nickelsteel strings, I just said, 'oh man, GHS and DR strings have nothing on these guys at Dean Markley.' I will only play Dean Markley strings from now until the day I die!
Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
These are the only strings I use now and I have always used them. I have tried all the strings and these are the very best I find. The durability is out of this world.

Comments about Dean Markley 2502 Light NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings:
These are like their Blue Steel cousins, but the NickelSteel's are easier to bend and are untreated. The sustain on N.S.'s is long and the volume is rather loud. They have that classic Dean Markley tone: bright, full sounding, punchy, tight, and balanced tone across the fretboard. Definitely original sounding strings with great consistency. My Jackson loves 'em! Only string that balances the sound and gives enough volume and sustain.
