OVERVIEW

Combat finger grunge!

Prolong your tone with the same acoustic guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available.

Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings. Anti-Rust Plating on plain steel strings ensures longer tone life for the entire set.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Premium by design, these acoustic strings constructed with 80/20 (80% copper, 20% zinc) bronze wrap wire boast a crisp, bright tone with an expressive, vibrant presence. Compared to Elixir's original POLYWEB Coating, the ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating allows a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel.

For a slicker, gentler feel, try the original POLYWEB Coating on their 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Strings, which also feature a more robust and rounded tone. For more of a balance between bold and bright, Elixir's Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating deliver full-bodied tone and sparkling high-end clarity alongside the same traditional feel as these 80/20 bronze strings.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings. For a more in-depth look at what makes our strings so special, scroll to the branded info further down the page.

I've been using various acoustic strings throughout the years and have only come across a few brands that sound ok with my 83' Martin D28... the Elixir's were recommended to me by a friend but all I remember is trying some many years ago and they frayed pretty quickly and I really lost interest in them. I have to say I'm glad I gave them a try again. These are really good and the tone is fantastic ! Also, I've played a few gigs as well as just practicing around the house and they still sound great and chimey where as other strings were almost dead after I played one gig... getcha some !

When strings consistently break what can you say ?
I loved the sound of these strings on my Gibson J-45 but the G string would break consistently well before they would wear out. I switch to Daddario which don't seem to last quite as long but at least they don't break. Could be something wrong in the metallurgy? Since I don't break other brands it must be. I'm only posting this to help, hope it did. blessings

A Wining Design!

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Extra Light (.010-.047):

Great sound, with the coating that keeps them from wearing out, and cutting my fingers due to rust!

Thanks again MF! Peace.............
These string are a wining design!
The sound of these are bright, even and consistent. Both in tone and feel. Nice and loose. I used to use Martin Acoustic SPs. There were a tiny bit brighter, but they would rust very easily. These also don;t feel oily like other coated strings I have tried. I play them on a Rogue acoustic I got from here years ago. It sounds and feels like a Martin. Anyway the quality is top notch.
Overall a great value. Just what I needed as far as gauge, tone, feel and longevity. Thanks again Musician's Friend for Being here. Keep up the great work!

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Extra Light (.010-.047):

The primary benefit of these strings is that they sound good longer. Much longer. An additional benefit is that the coating allows your fingers to slide up and down the fretboard with less friction. This makes playing easier and also reduces the noise caused when your fingers slide up and down the string. The one compromise is that at their best, they don't sound quite as good as their non-coated competitors. They're very close, but you can hear a difference if you play them side by side. However, the non-coated strings will hold this advantage for about 20 hours of playing and will then fall off dramatically, while these strings will continue at a high level for probably triple that time. So, if you're able to hear the slight difference, don't mind the added friction when playing, and are willing to change strings every couple weeks, then non-coated strings are the way to go. If you prefer easier playing and longer life and are willing to give just a little in initial tone, then these are definitely my pick for you. They are for me.

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Extra Light (.010-.047):

I teach guitar and I use the Extra Light gauge strings for young students because it is a little easier on their fingers. The coating helps ease friction and softens the string. I recommend these also to get a little more tone out of a cheap, student line acoustic.

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Extra Light (.010-.047):

These are the best strings I have ever used. I recommend them to everyone who wants to achieve the best sound from their acoustic guitar. They make my cheaper acoustics sound expensive. My Taylor 314 sounds amazing. I will never switch, so buy a set you won't be disappointed.
Outlast any set on the market
      Terrific sound, long lasting
May seem a little high when compared to other sets, but the tone and life of the strings pay for themselves.

I bought these strings for my old Vintage Fender Gemini II guitar and they are amazing!!!! I only have to tune about once every 2 or 3 weeks!!! At first they did sound kind of metallic and unclear but that changed in about a week!! These are the best strings I have ever used!!!

Elixir are the strings that Tayor installs on all their guitars coming from the factory. They are similar to a set of "10''s" on an electric guitar and much easier to play than the traditional, heavier gauge acoustic strings. Chording and picking is much easier. Maybe a little pricey, but remember: "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price has been forgotten."

My guitar seemed to buzz and sound harsh. I put on a set of Nonaweb extra lights and they provided smooth tone thoughout the neck. Chords sound uniform with excellent clarity without being too bright, or tinny.

I have a Tele and a Epiphone Acoustic. Since I switched to Elixir strings both guitars stay in tune longer with a clear bright sound that far surpasses other strings that I have used in the past. I highly recommend for both the novice and pro player.
