OVERVIEW

Combat string grunge!

Prolong your tone with the same premium electric guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available. Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Crafted to last, these nickel-plated steel electric guitar strings boast a warm, robust tone while the POLYWEB Coating brings a slick, fast feel to the playing experience.

For a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel and a brighter, punchier tone, try Elixir's electric guitar strings with ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings.

FEATURES
  • Gauges 10-13-17-26-36-46
  • Electric guitar strings constructed with nickel-plated steel wrap wire
  • Played for a warm, robust tone
  • Original POLYWEB Coating provides a soft, slick feel that keeps the strings from getting in the way of playing
  • Patented coating technology protects against common corrosion, extending tone life longer than any other brand’s coated or uncoated strings (Elixir Strings player survey)
  • Anti-Rust Plating on plain steel strings ensures longer tone life for the entire set

I rated a 4 because they are pretty expensive. I used them long ago and decided I would try them again in case I missed something. I have had a set on my 335 for about a month and they still sound "new" even though they sound sort of broken in when I put them on they haven't lost any sound. I just put a set on my PRS. Several things I have noticed:

1) They have a very smooth feel, I liked that right away. Some people might not like the slippery feel.
2) There is less "String Talk" that is you get less fret noise. Also they don't have that annoying sitar sound I was getting from the other strings I was using.
3) They seem more balanced. Usually I change strings after the low "E" starts sounding dull even if they are holding their tuning. The wound strings seem to be hold up and still have a good tone.
4) When installing they seem to hold tune better right away. I normally tug on each string and re-tune until they hold, these require less tugging. I'm hoping this will help with tremolo use, it does seem they come back in tune very well.

I have heard that these string are easier on frets so that frets won't wear as quickly. Time will tell.

I'll keep using them for awhile. If they last as long as some people say then maybe they aren't that expensive if you don't have to but strings as often.

Wow the long term good sound, the smooth feel of the strings, the.... Awww dangit I broke one. See.. would you rather break and have to replace a 14 dollar string... or a 3 dollar string?Buy cheaper strings in bulk and youll find that about 12 packs of EB Slinky's will equal 3 of Elixer. And with cheaper strings you dont have to pray that string wont break when your in the zone. And ALSO! The sound quality of EB Strings vs Elixers is pretty darn close. In conclusion, all you hard rockers out there and all you acid fingered people, these aint your bag.

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

These are the elixr of life for guitars. Simply the best. Like willy wonka of strings invented these. This company will do fine to keep these on the market, as in my humble opinion they are the best and I've tried everything from dean markley's to ernie balls to high end expensive (more so) than these.

these string are the way better than ernie ball the low e string is the hardest to break and i broke one just putting one my guitar they are even more cheaply made then exilirs hands down havent had to replace a high e string since i replaced my strings with elixirs and that was almost a year ago and they sound the same as the day i put them on my guitar.

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

I put my first set of Elixirs on my guitar about 9 months ago, and only two days ago did one of them break. Even then, the strings still remained spotless and slick despite about 1-2 hours of playing per day. The tone isn't as bright as some others, but that can easily be remedied by turning up the treble on the amp or playing closer to the bridge. If you are considering these strings, don't hesitate--just buy. They may be twice the price as the other strings, but they literally last ten times as long.

These have to be the best to handle my playing and I've never broke one. The coating makes your fingers slide with little friction. The tone is excellent. Just try them, you will see & hear the difference.

I would highley recommend you purchase these strings.
I have tried several types of strings from Dean Markley, Dr strings, to fender. the elixir polyweb .10-.046 absolutley rock!!! when i play i don't get the slide sound..the strings sound faniminal. They are a little pricey but then again you get what you pay for. Don't belive me? Try some fender strings, or Dean Markley..i am not longer afraid that i wil cut my pinkey finger off on the high E.. With Elixir strings i can go up and down the neck all day and not worry about anything. I highley reccomend these.
Simply the best strings you can buy
Could be a little cheaper but not to bad if you buy in bulk

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

These strings are really good quality and sound great. But the coating on mine started to peel after like a week and a half on a couple of the strings (not much but enough). I'm not sure if I just got a bad set or that happens regularly. It didn't seem to affect the sound though. I'm too cheap to try another set. I enjoy the cheap electric strings, I spend enough on acoustic elixirs.
