I grew up using these picks mainly because of the three sides. I played very hard in my younger days. Now that I'm older, I do not play as hard. I have purchased practically every expensive pick on the market but I always come back to these. I just ordered six dozen of the heavy's. I've never had a problem with their size and stiffness. I don't break them anymore but I tend to give them away and loose them.
They hold up well.

My experience with this pick was with a thin size, for light strumming. The pick is too large for a thin and breaks quickly if you play hard at all. A plus is the three corners. If it breaks, and it will, you just switch corners. I would characterize this as a specialty pick only and not for regular playing.

What happened to a once great pick?

Comments about Fender Triangle Guitar Picks:

I had used Fender triangle medium picks since the mid 1970s. There was a time when these picks would very rarely crack or chip. Lately, I can't get though a song without chipping the corner of these picks. What happened? Did Fender change and cheapen the manufacturing formula?

Comments about Fender Triangle Guitar Picks:

In my opinion, the most versitile pick shape out there. Great acoustic flat pick, and you can vary the amount hanging out to vary the effective gauge when switching from rhythm to lead on electric. When they wear out, I use a 'pick punch' and make teardrop shape picks for my mandolin playing son in law. They are not as awkward as they look, and hard to drop when you're playing aggessively and your hands are sweaty.

Comments about Fender Triangle Guitar Picks:

I used these picks for over 20 years. The last gross I ordered were awful. They cracked and chipped at an alarming rate. I'd go through a pick about every couple songs. Absolutely terrible quality. I needed a good excuse to switch to a standard style of pick and I found it. I'll never buy Fender picks again. Or anything else, for that matter...their QC has gone down the toilet.

Ok Pics, pending on guitar used

Comments about Fender Triangle Guitar Picks:

These are good pics indeed. If I had to use Fender Brand Pics, then these would be my choice, the Mediums especially. I agree that these pics are great for playing rhythm, but whatever guitar one uses, I hope they have a stratch plate (pick guard), notably on acoustic guitars, because the sharp tips are likely to dig into the wood top overtime. Also, I've found that these pics work better with Fender Strats, Teles or replica guitars of those models. I play an Epiphone SG and I always had an issue of these picks getting stuck in the small crack of the humbucker pickup cavity, snatching the pick right out of my hand while playing. Again, these picks work better on solidbody guitars with single coil pickup cavities. I know these complaints sound trivial but take my word for it. The mediums don't really hold up that long but remember, they are made of celluloid, which is not as durable as Delrin, Ultem, Acetal, Nylon, or Lexan.

Comments about Fender Triangle Guitar Picks:

I've been performing for over twenty years and I only use the Fender "Dorito" thin guitar picks. They have great action and are easy to hang onto. Most of my gigs are three hours. Once I use a pick for that gig it's retired to the practice gig section. Rarely to I break a tip off during a gig.

I use the THINS for playing bajo quinto. Been using them for years. They make playing bajo fun and easy. They are large and easy to hold. With the thick gage of the bajo strings though, sometimes blow a corner off, but why not. When you're jammin', your jammin'! With three corners per pick, the pack of 6 dozen lasts me years.

Comments about Fender Triangle Guitar Picks:

I started using these in the late 60's and wouldn't go on stage without them. Like the one reviewer said you actually have 3 picks in 1, a corner breaks just rotate it. I always kept 2 "spares" on my stand but raely had to use them except for the occassional "whoops". Easy to handle and you can vary the action by where you hold it. Once you use it you won't use anything else.

I have used these *exclusively* for nearly 20 years, on both guitar and bass, and would not use anything else. I bought a 6 dozen box quite a few years ago, and have not run out since ! I hope Fender doesn't stop making them, but I will have to buy another box soon just in case.

Comments about Fender Triangle Guitar Picks:

After 40+ years of drumming I decided to pick up a acoustic guitar. My style is predictably percussive but wasn't dynamic. At my last drum gig my guitarist left these picks littering the stage which I pocketed and now use. The control is unbelievable, unlike any other style of pick I have tried.

Fun to use, and impossable to lose! The only real problem is that I can only fit one in a pic holder. D: But meh, I jsut use the thing when I need to switch styles. XD

When I want the thump for oldies-style, I use fingers...when I need a sharper attack the undercut the guitars, or to play faster, or just to save my sore fingertips, I use the Fender heavy triangle, or as I call 'em, my "Dorito Picks" ...mediums wear down too fast, & thins are like picking with tissue paper.

I bought the more expensive one, and I'm sill on my first one after 2-1/2 months. Easy to Hold, Hard to lose grip. Bad thing about them was that when I first got them, I opened up the box they come in and they were a little stinky. Other than that, these picks are a great addition to your accessories.
