OVERVIEW

Reduces string breakage thanks to Teflon coating that eases the grip and stress while your play.

Graph Tech's String Saver Saddle for Tune-O-Matic Nashville Post 2000 Gibson is made with a unique combination of materials made to enhance tone and dramatically reduce string breakage.

How do they work?
A string resting on a metal saddle binds and locks the string in place. As the string vibrates, it stresses the string on a very specific point producing metal fatigue and then string breakage. Each String Saver saddle is impregnated with Teflon, the slipperiest substance on earth. The Teflon in String Savers eases the grip between the saddle and string spreading the stress over a greater portion of the string just enough to drastically reduce string breakage. Teflon is 500% more slippery than graphite and is impregnated throughout the String Saver material, so its lubricating properties will never wear out. For string breakage reduction, the difference is dramatic. Strings will last and last, no matter how hard you play.

What do they sound like?
Metal saddles have a pronounced 2kHz treble spike that dominates the tonal spectrum. Like all the String Saver Originals from Graph Tech, the String Saver Saddle for Tune-O-Matic Nashville Post 2000 Gibson has a more balanced tone with sizzling highs, full mids, and big, open lows. You will also notice an increase in sustain by up to 25% over brass saddles and 15% over steel.

String Saver Originals are made entirely of Graph Tech's String Saver material and as described above will give you a more balanced tone than steel saddles. On first listen, some people believe that the top end has gone away. However, once your ears get used to the new sound, you'll start to hear all the added harmonic content that String Saver saddles reveal. All that's missing is the 2kHz spike, but what's added opens up a whole new world of sonic possibilities!

Comments about Graph Tech String Saver Saddle Tune-O-Matic Nashville Post-2000 Gibson Set:

Put these into my Epiphone Les Paul Custom. Love them so far. My guitar is staying in tune better than ever before. I was a little cautious because I'd read that they can kill your guitar's tone. Did NOT do that for me. Sounds better than ever. Harmonics still going strong and the sustain is fantastic. I didn't get these to avoid string breakage, I got them for tuning stability and sustain and they delivered on both accounts!

    • Simply, the saddle problem solution!

Comments about Graph Tech String Saver Saddle Tune-O-Matic Nashville Post-2000 Gibson Set:

While these are great for a "Nashville" type bridge-they DO NOT FIT THE GIBSON ABR-1 BRIDGE. There was no indication of this in the description, so I called MF; a "tech" said that they would fit, so I purchased them. Good thing I had a "Nashville" bridge nearby. Why does Graf-Tech not make a notched set for the ABR-1!???

    • Saddle too thick

Comments about Graph Tech String Saver Saddle Tune-O-Matic Nashville Post-2000 Gibson Set:

Great product, helps guitar to stay in tune. Saddles are a bit thicker than the stock Gibson ones. This extra thickness reduces the amount of saddle travel away from the neck, and can limit your ability to intonate your guitar properly on some guitars. This isn't a deal-breaker for me though. I have these saddles on my Les Paul, and Flying V. On the Flying V, I'm ALMOST out of adjustment on 3 strings, but I can still intonate the guitar. On my Les Paul, I have ample adjustment left. Both guitars are the same scale length of 24 - 3/4", so I don't understand why there is a difference. Also, some players with this issue turn the saddles around and mount them backwards, which increases the lengthening adjustment a bit. Anyway, even with that one issue, I still think it's a great product, and if they could just reduce the thickness of the saddles, they'd be perfect and I'd give them 5 stars instead of 4. Despite this small flaw, I still highly recommend these saddles.

Amazing. Never Had a String Break Since!!

Comments about Graph Tech String Saver Saddle Tune-O-Matic Nashville Post-2000 Gibson Set:

I have an Epiphone Les Paul Standard and was having problems with the strings breaking at the bridge all the time! I bought these Graph Tech Saddles and have literally never had a string break since. I didn't even expect them to work this well! I haven't changed my playing style or strings, either. If anything, I play even harder now!

Comments about Graph Tech String Saver Saddle Tune-O-Matic Nashville Post-2000 Gibson Set:

My husband is in prison so I do his ordering for him, we ordered string savers for his les Paul electric guitar he changed the string savers from the ones that were on the guitar to the new ones we bought, He wanted to say that the strings are easier to bend and sound better, they keep a lot more sustained and I would recommend these to anyone wanting to change due to strings breaking. Quality is fantastic and if I could I would have given 10 stars. I have been playing for 3 years @ 7 hours a day and was busting many strings but now with the string savers they don't break and I can bend the strings easier thanks.

Comments about Graph Tech String Saver Saddle Tune-O-Matic Nashville Post-2000 Gibson Set:

I put these on my Gibson ES-137. My other electrics (strat and tele) have string saver saddles too. I RARELY break a string. I can bend aggressively and pummel chords with confidence. My first set of string saver saddles went on my workhorse strat 15 years ago-they still work perfectly and look brand new. I can't discern any negative changes in tone. They also seem to improve consistency in tuning (no strings catching in the notches of standard saddles). If you don't like the hassle of popping a string-especially in the midst of a gig, get these things on your guitar.

Comments about Graph Tech String Saver Saddle Tune-O-Matic Nashville Post-2000 Gibson Set:

I actually purchased these from the factory before I realized that MF carried them nevertheless, here's my experience with the Graph Tech Saddles.

I placed a set of GraphTech saddles on my Ibanez Hollowbody which in my case are really GraphTech BM-003 saddles. That's just a slight variant in saddle size from the TUSQ Tune-O-Matic saddle but totally similar. I'm a jazz student who plays mostly "clean" and here's what I noticed.

                1. Tuning the strings is much smoother - no jumps.
                2. The tuner lights on my Boss ME-70 don't jump around anymore probably because some of the string harmonics are gone.
                3. The guitar tone is much more "fundamental" and stays that way even with the tone knob opened up for treble tones.
                4. I play in the "clean mode" and that "PLINK" that I've been trying to remove from the B & little E strings for ages has gone.
                5. Chords like Cmaj7+4, D7-5-9, and other dissonant chords don't sound muddled anymore.
                6. Non-dissonant Chords sound more balanced, clean and non-muddled.

I initially thought that I had just gone slightly guitar psycho and was dreaming up the positive change but I can't dream up the way the ME-70 tuner responds to the new setup. Something about the saddles has made my AFS-75 Hollowbody more stable as well as improving the tone and clarity. It has a much better "Jazz Tone".

Are you breaking strings at the saddle? This is the fix. I put them on my Epi.Wildcat and it sounds better and no more poping strings.I was breaking the high E no more! Check your intonation and string height after you install them.
