OVERVIEW

Never accidentally knock your guitar off the stand again.

The Single Guitar Stand with SFF on Legs features the innovative Hercules Auto Grab System (AGS) yoke: the arms turn in and up with the weight of your guitar to hold it securely and simply open up when you lift it off. The legs and all contact points with the instrument feature Specially Formulated Foam (SFF) rubber to protect your guitar's finish. Also features the Hand Grip Height Adjuster, which makes adjustments a breeze with a locking pin to secure the stand in place. A folding backrest flips down to support your guitar and back up for storage and transport.

All Hercules stands are safe for most nitrocellulose lacquer finish guitars*.

*Hercules tests for many types of nitro finish, however some guitar manufacturers change their nitro mixture often. Guitars should never be stored on a stand...always in the case.

The design of the Hercules single guitar stand holds the guitar at the neck. Bearing the weight at the top has freed me from worrying about the cable connection at the base of my guitar which almost always got tangled up with my old stand and at times allowed the guitar to drop to the floor. So I for one am sticking with the Herc stand. No problems for the last 3 weeks of use. Yeah!
Very easy to adjust height to accomodate any size guitar. The padding is great. No more guitar body sound when placing my acoustic electric on the stand.

I bought two of these from MF.I've owned two of these stands since 2014 and both stands have deteriorated the exact same way. The handle you squeeze to raise or lower the height turns at first into a really sticky rubbery surface. At first I thought mine were sprayed with something but it turned out not to be the case. The rubber breaks down with time and the spring loaded components break down too. One day I went for the stand I wasn't using and when I picked it up the spring jumped out and the entire rubber surface where you adjust the height had disintegrated and this is unacceptable for something that never saw one second of abuse. Because the one fell apart I'm afraid to leave any of my other basses on the other stand just knowing it would be in harms way as the rubber on that stand is deteriorating also. Bad design and when you go to their website you can click on what country you live in but the site never takes you to a dealer or distributors page as it states, so as a consumer I'm just stuck with @ $80+ worth of junk.

Comments about Hercules Stands Single Guitar Stand with SFF on Legs:

I've had this stand for probably 3-4 years and I love the design for my Explorer, Flying V and acoustics. But now in the last year the rubberized plastic on the height adjustment grip has become this sticky mess. It's not from anything that I put on it chemical wise it's just decomposing I guess. I'm worried that what ever it is will stick to my hands and get on my guitar finish. Tried to contact customer support at the company website but it just referes you to the distributor in your area. I'm posting here because I bought it from MF. For what I paid for this stand I wouldn't expect the material to do this, I have old metal fold up stands that are +30 years old and the rubber is a little dry but never sticky...really dissapointed. Beware!

As many others have already pointed out, the rubber like components of this product start deteriorating quickly, becoming sticky & messy, then eventually fall apart entirely. It's not a great feeling, coming home and finding one of your guitars laying face down on the deck!

Comments about Hercules Stands Single Guitar Stand with SFF on Legs:

This is a much sturdier, better thought out design the the one made by Ultimate (which I bought this one to replace - and worth the few extra dollars. I only knocked off one point for price and because the leg lock knob doesn't seem to have a detent like the ones on the yoke height adjuster, so it's hard to tell when it's tight enough.
I like the auto-grab thingy, and the legs fold down in such a way that they just can't collapse, even if the knob isn't tight enough. Detents for the pin in the yoke height adjuster are a plus.
        Seems very well built.
A little pricey, but I'd rather not have my bass hit the floor over a few bucks.

Comments about Hercules Stands Single Guitar Stand with SFF on Legs:

I have looked at every stand available in the marketplace and, in my opinion, this is the best available. The construction is sturdy. The stand is adjustable to compesate for different guitars lengths. And the locking mechanism works very well. This is just a great design that has been well executed. My only issue with this stand is that I would prefer it be all black. I'm not a big fan of the yellow painted piece on the stand. But the functional aspects of the product more than make up for that.

Comments about Hercules Stands Single Guitar Stand with SFF on Legs:

Everyone advises you to keep your guitars in their cases unless you're playing them. Well I play all my guitars (six) every day - one after another (it's what keeps me at maximum motivation). Keeping my guitars in their cases at home would be a hassle. I will take my chances using stands.

These seem about the most stable and well-constructed of all the stands out there. I have one of the Hercules seven-guitar racks in my home studio, but like to play several of my collection unplugged when I'm lying in bed just after the alarm goes off and also at night lying in bed just before I go to sleep. I try not to look at my hands, so as to develop better proprioception (hand-eye-mind coordination). I use six of these stands along the foot of the king bed (I also keep my bass on a stand). My wife thinks I'm a fanatical nut, but since I put up with her eccentric hobbies, she tolerates it - we have an agreement.

I can't find any fault with these stands. You can find cheaper ones and you can find more portable ones, but these are the ones I would most trust my lovely guitars in (aside from the stationary rack). The price is reasonable to me for having a secure place to keep my guitars ready to practice on. We have cats, and they do occasionally do that thing where they rub their fur up against them, but these are secure enough to not topple over for anything short of a big dog running into it (actually, if we had dogs, I'd be more protective, since I know dogs will chew on stuff). Cheers.

Comments about Hercules Stands Single Guitar Stand with SFF on Legs:

This works great for guitars with Gibson style headstocks, but Fender, g&l and a few others have the gripping point at an angle, wearing down the rubber on the left side. would probably work better with nylon grips. Hope my guitar doesn't fall through one of these nights.

Comments about Hercules Stands Single Guitar Stand with SFF on Legs:

Forget cheap stands you will just end up throwing them out. The guitar is supported only by the neck. So it can hold any style from acoustic to crazy bc rich designs. The bases legs are nice and thick heavy tube metal. This weight gives it a really low center of gravity. So this will not fall over unless you push it over. After loving my first one I bought two more. Great product can't recommend it enough.

I love this stand! For basses, it has never failed on stage, in my music area. The grip and release is the best invention ever. The high quality parts and function are the bomb. I never took any other stands to live gigs due to not trusting them from tipping. It folds down pretty well. But, I would rather have a bit more less smallness when provided the strong design.

A basic design flaw in the auto-grab feature

          By Howard Moon

          from United Kingdom

Comments about Hercules Stands Single Guitar Stand with SFF on Legs:

This is a well made stand. However, there is a basic flaw in the design of the auto-grab feature that renders it useless. Typically a tripod based guitar stand is most easily toppled forward, which is also the worst direction for a traditional open pronged neck rest since there is nothing to stop the guitar from falling out in that direction. Not a problem with the auto-grab in place though right? Wrong! The system relies on the weight of the guitar hanging down, so as the stand topples forward as soon as the bottom of the guitar touches the floor the weight that engages the mechanism is removed; the result being that the auto-grab arms open just the same as if you were lifting the guitar up. Since there is nothing holding the guitar from below -there can?t be in order for the auto-grab system to work ? the result is even more catastrophic than the traditional design. Those at least have the hooked rests at the bottom, which make the tipping point harder to reach. When tipped forwards the Hercules stand, in effect, ejects your guitar forwards as soon as the bottom of the guitar touches the ground! The only way to counter this is to raise the height of the guitar. This slightly increases the time before the bottom of the guitar touches the ground and gives you a little longer to grab it before it is ejected. Unfortunately, this also raises the centre of gravity, thus making it easier to topple the stand in other directions. The only solution I can think of would be to include the ability to lock the mechanism in feature designs. In sum, the traditional ? and typically cheaper - design of stand is far more secure.

              About Me Experienced

Comments about Hercules Stands Single Guitar Stand with SFF on Legs:

This is an example of a company allowing the consumer to pay a high price for a item, and also do the longer term research on it. The stand is a good idea, but not tested enough before selling it. I bought eight of these stands only to find they fall apart. They let your guitar fall. The plastic the height adjustment is made from, gets sticky, and then falls apart, plastic and springs dropping to the floor. The stand is good for a short time, but most people would expect a of this price stand to last for several years. Guitars cost too much to trust a poorly made stand to hold them. I am sure the company knows about this problem. The question is, what are they going to do about it. A quality company would recall and repair or replace these defective stands, not pocket the money and forget about the musician who trusted them. Until something is done about this problem, I am going to continue to inform everyone I can about this bad product. People today expect products to be made poorly, thinking that is how it has always been. That's not true, there were times when people payed good money and they got good products. Now I hear of people giving good reviews to guitars after replacing pcs, tuning key, bridges, and just about everything else on the guitar. Then they recommend others buy the guitar. Companies that make a bad product and charge a large price for it,should stand behind what they sell. The consumer should not be a victim and have to spend more money for guitar stands, because a company does not care. Musicians should demand more from so called quality companies.

I have had several Hercules stands over the years. They are fantastic for about 2 years and then something happens with the lever mechanism used to extend the height of the stand. The rubber around the lever basically falls apart and the lever follows.

I liked the stands so much that at first I thought I had a couple of flukes from the factory and continued to buy more. But, this has now happened again. I have purchased about 10 Hercules stands and to date every one of them has had this issue.

As great as these stands are out of the box I can't recommend them at all.

Comments about Hercules Stands Single Guitar Stand with SFF on Legs:

I bought this Hercules Guitar stand in 2014, primarily to hold a short scale bass. It held it sturdily, and I found that it held any guitar, acoustic or solid body, in my sizeable collection, as well, never slipping, and never suffering any of the functional failures that some have had. I don't know what others do with their guitar stands, but my stand has done its job nearly every day for about 3 1/2 years, and I've been so impressed by the utility of this stand that I bought a new one a few weeks ago, so that I could have the added utility of a second stand. The original stand is still functional. I compared the new stand to the older stand, and I could see no difference in construction. Given that I have not experienced ANY problems with either the first stand or the identical new stand, I highly recommend this particular model as money well spent.

It holds my Martin everyday all day. I've had this stand over 10yrs. It mainly holds my Martin, but holds my strat secure. I rely heavily on this stand. I bought it after my "U"stand broke at the lock. I haven't had a worry sense. It's allgood man.

This seemed to be a great idea... an adjustable stand with a locking headstock. However, after only a few years the plastic parts became very sticky, then fell into pieces, making the stand unusable. Disappointed.

I have owned upwards of 20 guitar stands throughout the years. My favorite where the better hanging Hamilton ones, but tht few that I had from the early 90's finally went away (someone stole one recently)
I have bought a few different brands and was not very pleased with any of them until I saw this one.
