its a great idea but could have been executed a bit better. It tunes you up pretty quick but that's about the end. (please note that it is not as easy to use as a clamp on tuner, those ones seem to be quicker to respond and more finely gradated but this certainly gets the job done). ok, you are all tuned up and ready to strum to your hearts content....wrong! Anything more aggressive than finger picking or playing individual strings at a time will land this tuner right inside the sound hole of your guitar having you doing the old upside-down guitar hop to get the thing out. This as we all know becomes very aggravating. If there was some type of snap or a better clip to hold it in place this thing would be the greatest, however, there isn't.... so it isn't.

Comments about Korg Rimpitch Chromatic Sound Hole Tuner:

I like everything about this tuner, except for the fact that I knock it inside the guitar every single time I use it. I have tried placing it in different spots on my Taylor acoustic, however it ends up inside the guitar. I wish there were a better way to attach it or brace it inside the soundhole to eliminate this problem!

Comments about Korg Rimpitch Chromatic Sound Hole Tuner:

I see all of these negative reviews, and I'm a little surprised. These came up on SDOTD for a third of the regular price. I bought two of them. I have one in a 12 string Peavey and one in an Epiphone AJ-100 that I keep at work. I honestly liked them so much that I bought three more the next time they came on sale. I gave two away as gifts and put the last one in a Crafter that I picked up in Korea. I haven't had any bad experience with these falling into the sound hole. The one in my Epiphone made it through three airports on my way to work in a gig bag without budging. I prefer it to the clip-on tuners. It works just fine for me.

Comments about Korg Rimpitch Chromatic Sound Hole Tuner:

The clamps are not tight enough so the tuner can slip off the top and fall into the guitar. I tried to hand compress the clips without success. Also it is hard to read what note is illuminated when tuning in a dark place. A backlight would be a good design improvement.

Comments about Korg Rimpitch Chromatic Sound Hole Tuner:

I love the idea of this, but my experience with it was very poor. I just can't get it lock into the sound hole of my Taylor and it ends up inside the body of my guitar about every fifteen minutes. The rubber gasket used to clamp onto the guitar keeps slipping off of the metal clamps that are designed to pinch down on the wood. I found it to be far too much of a hassle fishing it out of the guitar, re-seating the gasket, and clamping it on again to be worth the bother. It's now just joined my drawer of other guitar junk that didn't make the cut. Back to the Snark for me.

I bought one of these and liked how unobtrusive it was. You just mount it inside your sound hole. Not a great tuner, but it works and you don't have to plug in or clip something onto the head stock. Bought a second one and it didn't work at all. Two stars.

Bought this for 10 on super sale. OK, but annoying to use because it doesn't lock onto the pitch well and the indicators are not very clear as to which direction you need to go in. Nowhere near the functionality of the better clip-on tuners.

Comments about Korg Rimpitch Chromatic Sound Hole Tuner:

MF had this on Stupid Deal of the Day. I got 2 since I have a large stable of acoustics. Thought it'd be fun to try them & see how they worked. I didn't have problems with it installing in the sound hole but I didn't try it on my older Ovation, which some say is too thick. It seems to work like any other tuner. I'm glad they made a chromatic one because I play a lot of alternate tunings. I've not had any problems with my strumming hand hitting it. I don't know how others play or if they constantly hit the pick guard, but I don't. Maybe I'm just trained differently. So no problem hitting it with MY strumming hand. It's a fun little unit but not one to quickly switch from guitar to guitar like a headstock tuner can. It'd work best if you're gigging & needed to check or change tunings.

Designed for acoustic guitar, it is functional and blend well with the natural color of my guitar. The manufacturer warns of leaving marks on guitar if it sits for too long but so far so good. In the end the intention was not to pop it on and off every time. It attracts my attention when in SDOTD and very happy with it.

I love the design of this tuner; and like the D'Addario NS Micro I really wanted to like the function. HOWEVER, like the D'Addario, I find it's "wandering" results are very difficult to tune to. If they were the only tuners I had ever used, I might accept this. But I compare them to my TC Electronics Polytune clip on tuner. Not only more accurate (seemingly), but FAR easier to use, as it's indicator lights tend to lock in faster, & don't "wander" as much. Maybe the difference between a headstock tuner vs. soundboard tuners (though that seems to be counter-intuitive to me).
I'll keep it (along with my D'Addarios) as back-ups...

I just got this. The price is right and it tunes great. I find it easy to use. However, in my first gig with it, I managed to knock it into my sound hole within a few songs. I'm not sure if I did it when I was strumming, or if I did it by unconsciously touching my guitar near the sound hole between songs. This means, for now, I just need to be a little more aware of it, so I am not ready to discount this.

Comments about Korg Rimpitch Chromatic Sound Hole Tuner:

Fits like a glove on the Epi Hummingbird Pro. I wish it used the CR 2032 battery and came in a choice of colors. I would have preferred a black on black finish, as it is shown on the Korg product page, to match the ebony finish of my guitar. It's best to just leave the tuner mounted on the guitar and not remove it expect for possibly replacing the battery, else you could risk possibly scratching the finish of your guitar by accidently exposing the rubber covered metal clip. The owners manual claims +-0.10 cent accuracy for those who are interested. As the 'Stupid Deal of the Day', it's a great value.

I love the idea, but this tuner needs to go back to the drawing board. The tuner itself works great, but I am tired of fishing it out of the sound hole. This tuner lacks a decent clip that will keep it from falling in the hole or falling on the ground. They need to rethink how this unit attaches to guitar.

Comments about Korg Rimpitch Chromatic Sound Hole Tuner:

I had the older model and somehow I had it in my pocket and it ended up going through a full cycle in the Washing Machine. So I went to get another one and lucked out that this newer model was the Stupid Deal and I got two.
In the meantime I dried the old one one in front of the fan for a few days and it STILL WORKS great.
So now I have that one in my old Gibson, the New one goes on my Breedlove Revival DM (amazing guitar).
I think these tuners are a little more accurate than most of the clip on headstock models and once you get the hang of it are much easier to use. I don't notice any real depreciation in tone using them .
The older model was standard tuning and that's it, really all I want from a tuner. The newer one has more features which I can easily do without and they make the learning curve a bit more, if there even is a learning curve, these things are fairly intuitive.
All in all I prefer these tuners, and for sure the older model is durable, like an old Timex.

Hoping the new model is as durable as the old one but I don't plan on putting it in the Wash to find out.

Comments about Korg Rimpitch Chromatic Sound Hole Tuner:

its a great idea but could have been executed a bit better.

Having used the original rim-pitch, I was excited to get the chromatic version. It wasn't quite as clear as I would have hoped, just adding in a # indicator, but I can now tune to Eb with better accuracy than holding the first fret down while tuning. I'd put this right up there in terms of tuning accuracy with the snarks, but the convenience of having it in the sound hole instead of on the headstock makes this one a winner.

It was a very simple set up and there is nothing really to connect aside from installing the battery. It is pretty accurate but when going to a drop D (flatted as I play 1/2 step down) it has a more difficult time sensing the pitch. Aside from that it's in a great spot and I've never inadvertently hit it while strumming. It turns on and off easily. Not sure on the battery life as of yet, but lets hope for the best.
