Comments about Martin M550 Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Tune fast without breaking. They sound great on my D35 Martin; Guild D25M and make a Tacomine G330 student guitar sing. Any heavy body acoustic guitar will sound dull with brass strings but these little guys will breathe life into them. They really make an inexpensive guitar sound like it costs a lot more than it did. You will find that medium strings fret easy and, because they are wider, put less pressure on your fingertips. Less pressure means longer playing time with less pain. I just gave a set to a friend of mine who has played in bands for many years and he loves the effect they have on his guitar. When I was young I bought the strings my friends said were cool and ended up regretting it. After playing guitar for over 49 years I now buy what I know has been proven to me to work. These strings work. Try them and see for yourself that the M550 are a great set of strings and especially so for the money.

Comments about Martin M550 Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

After using 80/20 for a while, I switched to these phosphor bronze strings in the medium gauge. I am not sure whether it is because of the bigger size or the brand, but after switching to these strings from D'addario 80/20 med-light strings, the tone of the plain steel strings improved vastly on my guitar. They no longer sound off with an ugly high pitch sound, but instead they blend into the mix much more smoothly. As for the rest of the strings, I am very pleased with the quality of the tone that the strings produce.

Comments about Martin M550 Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I have long used the M550 92/8 medium gauges on all my steel-stringed acoustics. I enjoy the crisp response and great callus-building attributes that these strings provide. The strings hold up to strong playing or gentle finger-picking techniques. The bass and treble aspects are mind-blowing when plugged into an acoustic amplifier.
