I mailed my turntables in the mail with these cases, and they shattered like glass. Not worth buying if you need to actually travel with them. They make your turntables look cool, but that's it. For people who do heavy travelling with turntables, invest in some decent cases.
These cases are great for how we use them @ my radio station. no problems and decent construction to handle Tech 12's from event to event and around the station house. We don't even baby them. NOT cert'd as FLIGHT cases so don't be a moron... if you want ATA's, BUY ATA's!
Yes, the top and bottom don't always fit together perfectly, and yes, one of them lets my 1200 rattle around a little inside, but with a little creativity you can work around these issues and reap the benefits of a really cheap case. I use pieces of packing foam on the platter to keep things from moving around, and then it's fine. Just don't mail them, fly with them, or put them upside-down. Simple.
While this case is fairly nice overall, my biggest complaint is that it does not fit the TTX-1 (these cases were included with the TTX-1s from this site). I don't know if it fits the Technics or not.
I will warn that the handles on these cases are not comfortable. They're like hard rubber - your hands will be red and achey after carrying them up a couple sets of stairs. Also, although the cases do fit together and close, it's not exactly a seal. It's as if one side of the case is slightly warped. There's a reason they are so cheap. You get what you pay for!
I bought one of these for my Numark TT200, and it didn't fit right away. I had to rip out the front two foam blocks in order for it to work,a nd now it works like a charm. The latches are great, because they flip, twist, then unlock. great for moving from destination to destination. they can take somewhat of a beating and hold their own.
