This is a great, sturdy gig bag that provides excellent protection for your guitar. The foam padding is 1/2 inch on each side (front and back) which adds up to 1" total. The foam is covered with a high quality no scratch material and it also has extra protection for the headstock and bridge. It fits my les paul AND my stratocaster (not both at once though). Love the outside pockets and the back pack straps too. The exterior material is high quality, durable, and will last a long time. For the price, you can't beat it. Shipping, for me, cost only 5 bucks, and it came in 3 days.
I bought a Gibson SG faded special that came with a Gibson gig bag. I took one look at that gig bag and bought one of these. It is vastly superior to the Gibson bag, which hit the closet and is now providing a home for the moths. It would be difficult enough to find a better gig bag period, much less for the same price. I bought the green one, very handsome.
This is my first case and i have to say I'm impressed. It's a bit darker than pictured but it still feels and looks super nice. I can fit all my music books in the pockets, which i have a lot of. The smaller pocket is great for picks and little things. The straps are padded and makes my instrument feel much lighter, you could definitetly go a couple miles with it and not break a sweat. The handle has a velcro strap that secures the whole thing together, like you could walk around with your case half closed, the strap secured and be just fine. The padding is great and looks like it can stand the some cold, but don't bury it in the snow. It fits my strat just fine, leaving the perfect amount of room to zip it up, but not too much to slide around. It's a great price, and I recommend it for all levels of musicians.
What a great gig bag.. I own a few others and paid more for them. This is by far the best.. Great bag at a wonerful price. Super quality!!!!!
Thought I'd give one of these bags a chance, as the price was so appealing. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by what I got. The twill is soft to the touch, construction (seams, hardware, materials) were much better than I expected. Other reviewers have mentioned the ample padding and internal reinforcement at wear and safety points, and I must agree. Bottom line, I like it so much I bought a few more for the rest of my guitars. As a consumer, I was happy to finally get a deal that rather than being a dissappointment, actually exceeded my expectations.
If you do not require a hard case for your Guitar, these bags are just plain tough to beat. Simple design with some extra storage and very well constructed. Unbeatable for the $$$! Give them a try. I have one for each of my guitars.
So well padded and snugly too the touch,I feel like climbing in with the guitar.Appearance wise its utterly stylish, roomy zippered compartments, several carry handle options(padded),a welcome carry on item for any type of transport, airport lookout HERE I COME.
I bought one of these in green just to hold an Eastwood Sidejack that I could not find a well-fitted case for. I was really pleased! This is a very nice gig bag for just 20 bucks. I've spent four times as much and more or less got the same thing.Padding and zippers have always been my big grip and I am not really a gig bag person anyway but I find this one very adequate. I may order a couple more just have them in case I have no case.I don't see any room for a complaint here!
There are a LOT of gig bags on the market, most of which are overpriced and under padded. I've got 7 or 8 of these gig bags. It's padded well enough that you can lean it against a wall or door, accidentally send it slapping to the floor with some force and have absolutely no worries about your instrument taking any damage. I've had it happen s dozen times as well as some harder spills without incurring any damage. The material is strong, the seams have been stitched well and the zippers are good quality. The straps and handles are well made and very well stitched also. The pockets hold quite a lot of material from cables to sheet music to a moderate sized effects processor. Of course I would be happy if it had thicker padding but it is right around the point of manageable. Thickening it up too much more would result in it becoming overly bulky with an instrument in tow. Every so often, I see these on sale knocked down to 20 bucks and I nab a few. I have a large collection and actually prefer these over my hard shell cases as they are a bit heavy and cumbersome. If you're a bit of a collector like myself, I urge you to keep an eye out for the sale price and when it surfaces, snag enough to shelter at least half your collection if not the whole thing. Next time these babies go on sale, I'll be investing in another half dozen.
Nice gigbag. Good quality materials, decent amount of storage, lots of padding... I got the red one. The picture doesn't really show it, but mine is same red as the burgundy interior of a 1978 Corvette owned by some balding middle manager in the midst of a mid-life crisis. I was a little taken aback. Good stuff, though. Get it!
The Musician's Gear Elite Series Electric Guitar Gig Bag is an Excellent Gig Bag!! I was thrilled when it arrived. i bought the tweed yellow one. The padding is identical to the Fender Gig bag that I had. Now that I mentioned it ALL the features where just like my fender bag. Only the name changed and color. The zippers worked great and have plenty of extra space for by extras like cables, strap, picks etc. Will be purchasing another one! Great product!
As gig bags go, this one looks good, is very well made, heavy duty zipper is nice too. I prefer hardshell cases but needed something to protect my Takamine Folk cutaway and this case fits nice and snug. I read the other reviews and like they said, it's got good padding but it's not a hard case. That suits my needs perfectly as I don't take this particular guitar out of the house. I chose the Tweed model and am very satisfied with the product and you can't beat the price.
I don't know how MG is just giving these away. The quality to value ratio is outstanding. I wish everyone followed MG's lead like this. I own 2. One for each of my Dano's. I have black and green so I know them apart. The fabric colors are beautiful. The interior is soft and comfortable. The pockets are roomy and you can fit plenty of books, mini amps, amp sims, pedals, a tuner, picks, cables or 8 1/2" x 11" music charts inside. On the back it has a handle on the neck and back-pack shoulder straps for ease of commute. I commute to local gigs via bicycle sometimes and this is a back saver. This is easily a 5 star product. If a bag is what you need for a normal shaped axe, look no further. The others just cost more.
I bought two of these about 4 years ago for my vintage Hohner LP copy and my Austin LP style electrics. They are wonderful. Tough - stiff outer material, thick - stiff padding, nice inside linning, heavy zipper, roomy inside, and lots of pocket storage. What a deal!
The only thing wrong with these is that they are discontinued. I own four and was going to buy more in different colors when all of a sudden there are no more. For all the rest they sell you need to pay two to fours times more to get something with comparable protection.Bring them back so people aren't buying bags that don't protect from anything but scratches.
Just got this bad boy in the mail and I am impressed. It's the best quality gig bag I've ever had and the amount of padding and protection for the neck and headstock is impressive. Good amount of storage space in the pockets and the double shoulder straps make for easy mobility. I'd recommend this to anyone in need of a gig bag, or who can't afford a hard shell case.
I got this gigbag brand new with my new telecaster and I am impressed with the amount of pockets and interior padding this thing has. It also is a really great deal for the money instead of getting a hardshell case. The interior also has a non scratch material that is smooth and does not feel rough to the touch. I have a roadrunner gigbag that costs more than this one and was nowhere near as nice as this one.
I purchased this bag back when it cost a lot more than it does now. But it was WELL worth the price. The bag keeps my Dean EVO all snuggly and cuddly and there's significant extra storage for all your other "take along" goodies. It's classy looking and extremely well made. I feel proud carrying my guitar around in this bag. I got the black one with the brown trimming to match my guitar.
I ordered one of these not really expecting much esp. for what I payed. Well I surely expected more than what I got. The first time I went to open it, one of the zippers just came right off. Rather than ship it back at that time I said w/e and decided to use it anyway. Well, not much to my surprise the other zipper came off when I zipped it up, stranding my guitar in the bag... Needless to say I sent it back. They sent me a replacement and it has held up for the 1 time that I've used it so far. For the price you can't really go wrong, as they are decently padded, but if you value your instrument, don't be cheap and get a real hard shell case for it. I got this for my $300 ibanez so I really don't care if anything happens to it.
If you really need an inexpensive gig bag, this is the best there is in this price range. Avoid the $13 Musician's Gear Electric Guitar Gig bag - this Elite has better, thicker material, thicker padding, and looks better too. Great value.
