If you are looking to just hold some music in front of you then his music stand is an inexpensive means of accomplishing that. No bells and whistles. Just a stand that does it's job. Probably would not hold up well to the rigors of gigging and such where it would undergo constant packing, moving and other rough treatment.

I just needed a stand to have around home to hold lyric sheets occasionally while recording, and wanted something that I could then store in a very compact form. This stand is fine in those respects. It was cheap to begin with, and at a further big discount when I bought it. However, the upper mechanism that secures the stand at the desired height is faulty in that it is a struggle to get it to clamp down- and I expect that it's just a matter of time before it breaks while I'm setting it. The cost was so low that's it's not worth the shipping to return the stand, and I can find a way to make it work well enough at home even if I ultimately have to use duct tape. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 just because it was so cheap and I can make use of it one way or another. I also know MF would replace it if I wanted to ship it back, and it may be that most of the stands in this line work fine, and I just got a lemon. I knew I was taking a chance on something that cheap- but as long as it was just for home use, I was OK with the gamble at the price I paid. But if you really want a stand that will likely be up to snuff, and reliable enough to stand up to some regular use, I'd pick something else.

Comments about Musician's Gear Folding Music Stand:
Nice sturdy construction. Folds as one piece. Screw knobs for adjusting height, legs and angle. This stand retails at $24. I would buy it at that price, but the clearance price I paid made it a phenomenal deal. I just may purchase another. This is my first purchase with Musician's Friend. MF was quick to process the order and ship, so I am one satisfied customer on this one.

Comments about Musician's Gear Folding Music Stand:
The quality of this stand is very good for such a low price. All the folding parts move smoothly and the height adjustment locks firmly. The finish is also very uniform. I'm amazed it sells for such a low price. I'm sure the heavy duty stands that sell for much more money are more stable, but for in home practice, this stand perform very well.
Comments about Musician's Gear Folding Music Stand:
Very nice for the price but the screw that holds the pages is not strong enough for anything more than pages. It will not support a book that is anly a 1/4" thick.
Fine for sheet music and OK for the $$
Comments about Musician's Gear Folding Music Stand:
I got exactly what I paid for. A portable, easily foladable music stand. It by no means can hold a dictionary, but simple guitar books and sheet music it handles with no problems. The adjustable height is nice because I bought it for my daughter who is 9 and is learning acoustic guitar, and sits mostly when she practices. She can adjust it to the perfect height for her. She also can fold it up on her own with no issues.
The fact that it folds completely down and is portable is fantastic.
It is not super sturdy, but it gets the job done.
Great value for the money.

Comments about Musician's Gear Folding Music Stand:
I was nervous after reading some of the reviews on this stand but am now very pleased. It was easy to assemble, lightweight and holds the music I need. I plan to use it when I attend harp festivals/events instead of my bulky, heavy regular stand. This will slide into the bag on the back of my harp dolly and be so much easier to transport.

Comments about Musician's Gear Folding Music Stand:
This is a good, serviceable portable music stand at a great price. Don't expect it to hold tons of heavy music books, etc. It's made of pretty thin material to facilitate portability. I also would not put a table on this stand. But for a few chord charts or lead sheets, it's a good cheap solution that can be quickly folded and stored out of site. I keep on in my home studio and another in my gig bag.

Comments about Musician's Gear Folding Music Stand:
I dont really like this stand. The clamp dosen't clamp down all the way so I had to make a modification to it the first time I used it. or else my music slips down. When I go to move it it pops out of the bottom of the stand. Spend the extra money and get a better quality stand.
Comments about Musician's Gear Folding Music Stand:
This stand is sturdy enough to pack up and take outside or to practice with a couple of friends. It has some little hands that hold the music so a breeze is not a problem. The price cannot be beaten for the kind of quality it gives.
It folds up to the size of an umbrella. It is made of metal and is sturdy. This stand is just what I wanted and need. If you need something really heavy duty, this may not be for you, but for the way I use it this is perfection. There are even two little arms attached which will keep your music from blowing in the wind.
It is made of metal, but is not real heavy duty. for a folding stand, it is great.Even though it is a folding stand, it does not collaspe.
For less than ten dollars, this is a real deal.Right now I really need a small portable stand, and this one is just right.
Comments about Musician's Gear Folding Music Stand:
This is a really nice sturdy stand that folds down to nothing for travel. For this price I did not expect this amazing quality.
Comments about Musician's Gear Folding Music Stand:
great little stand. compact and decent. doesn't feel cheap. the only reason I didn't make it a 10 is that because I'm sure a better stand would be heavy so it wouldn't tip. for the price, this is a perfect stand.

Comments about Musician's Gear Folding Music Stand:
I bought this music stand for my daughter to help hold the music up appropriately while she practiced. Having one similar in the past, I like that it is a semi-matte black finish (vs. chrome) to avoid any light glare when reading music. Simple to assemble and very economical.

Comments about Musician's Gear Folding Music Stand:
I bought this to use at home because of the price. It is fine unless you bang it into something because it is very flimsy and will damage easily.
