Very impressive! First thing I noticed was: the weight. Heavyweight, solid construction. Thick, lovely tweed wrap (much more vintage-tweed look than the photo would suggest.) These MusiciansFriend rubber-wrapped plugs on 1/4" cables are extremely durable, and this one appears to be no exception. With its heavyweight durability and functionality, I expect many years of great and elegant service from this top-quality instrument cable. A real and unexpected bargain at this low price. Highly recommended!

If you are a beginner and want to save money a cheap cable with cheap equipment is just gonna save you money. If you have any experience and want something decent then this is not the cable for you. These things suck. What ever you do, DO NOT RECORD or PLAY a SHOW WITH THESE... they will pop, crackle and ruin your hard work. Since these are Musicians Friends product most of these reviews are probably made by their staff. They probably got these things real cheap and are making a decent profit so it's pretty obvious. They are garbage. I have had many Live Wire and other brands and although the Live Wires will go out, at least they have a lifetime warranty and will be replaced (like any decent cable). Do you see a warranty on these?? You don't have to spend much more to get something decent so think before you buy.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed 1/4 In. Straight-Straight Instrument Cable:
Bought one of these several years ago for my pop who is a gigging musician and he still thanks me for it and lets me know it's still working. What more could you ask for? I wish it came with a rt angle input and the braiding makes it a little more challenging to wind but it is a durable cable and looks good.
Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed 1/4 In. Straight-Straight Instrument Cable:
I bought this to replace one of my cables that was broken in half when a steel pipe fell on it. It's not something you're going to have for years to come, but with light use, it will last you a pretty long time. All kinds of weird things have fallen on this one and it's still going strong after about 3 or 4 months.
Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed 1/4 In. Straight-Straight Instrument Cable:
I've had this cable for a few months now and have had no problems with it despite its fair share of abuse, not to mention the gold tweed is very stylish. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it at all.
Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed 1/4 In. Straight-Straight Instrument Cable:
I got this cable for Christmas. It lasted about a month and a half before it just stopped working. I wasn't rough with it, I took good care of it, but something on the inside like fried. I recommend just going for a more durable cable. This one looks rugged, it's not! Don't fall for the illusion!
Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed 1/4 In. Straight-Straight Instrument Cable:
I own 2 of them. Have had them for nearly 2 years. Travel with them; practice with them; etc. Through nearly 2 years of concerts, rehearsals and constant packing and unpacking they are still going strong. I have an expensive Fender cable that I have had to re-solder several times, but these have never failed, never popped or shorted. Anyone who has had a bad experience with this cable must have simply gotten a defective one!

i love this cable, its cheap and it does what needs to be done. im ordering a new one soon though cause my recent one got chewed through. BUY THIS CABLE IF YOU HAVE A LOW BUDGET ON GEAR!
Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed 1/4 In. Straight-Straight Instrument Cable:
The fact that it didn't last a year is extremely disheartning, however for the time it lasted it was solid.
The tweed is a really nice look for the cable. I purchased the gold tweed one and was more than satisfied. The only reason this didn't get a five was that the end covers slipped ocassionally.
The cable worked well for almost a year until one end stopped functioning. The most surprising part was that it was the end that got next to no abuse.
It's a fairly inexpensive and good looking cable.
Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed 1/4 In. Straight-Straight Instrument Cable:
Spend the money on something that won't leave you hanging.
I realize that this isn't a super high-end cable, but I expected more than a month of use out of it. The plugs have come loose on both ends of one of the cables I bought, and because of the sealed end design, I have to cut it open to salvage it, then repair with electrical tape.
Next time I'll spend more and get something more reliable.
Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed 1/4 In. Straight-Straight Instrument Cable:
For the less than two years this cable lasted it drove me nuts with the way it twisted and tangeld itself up so easily. It was by far the twistiest, tangliest cable I have ever owned. It stopped working a few days ago in the middle of a great jam. There are much better cheap cables out there.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed 1/4 In. Straight-Straight Instrument Cable:
What like most about this cable is that it tends to lay flat, (not tangle, twist or knot up), and I like the gold tips, some people say that gold tips give better electrical contact, and the shrink wrap ends additional support to the ends, something to grab onto when plugging or unplugging into a jack.

It was a good cable at first, but it frayed quickly. Not happy with the manufacturer. Just spend An extra couple of pesos for a KIRLIN cable. Much better quality
