Best Stands For Warlock Guitars and Basses

By Michael Frese

from villa ridge, MO

i had just bought a new 5 string warlock and i wanted to protect this thing with my life, so i tested about 50 different stands at my local guitar store and found that this one was the best of all. Because of the weird shape of the body on the warlock basses, it's hard to get them to fit in a normal round stand.

Greatest Stand I've ever used

After purchasing a Gibson Pete Townshend SG a few months ago, i knew i wanted to protect this guitar with my life. I've heard so many horrible stories about SG necks cracking because of bad stands, so i was ready to spare no expense for a good sturdy stand. I stumbled upon this, at first i was skeptical because its price and bad reviews other gave it, but i still took a chance. Now i'm a happy and assured guitarist. The great thing about this stand is that it holds acoustics and guitars/basses of odd shapes as well. The only thing i can complain about is that some of the screws have rust on them... that's why it gets 9 overall. but that doesn't prevent the stand from doing its job of protecting my guitar. Excellent balance and durability. Those who gave this stand a bad rating are nuts, this is as good as it can get for guitar protection, if you're still not satisfied, then just keep it in the case.

Don't trust the other reviews

I saw the low rating on this product and don't believe it at all. When I bough my first expensive guitar I knew I wanted the best to protect it. This is the stand. The flip lock thing prevents kids from taking it out or your drummer from picking up your axe. It's a really heavy stand and it's really hard to knock over unlike other stands. But if you tried you can knock it over backward and the guitar neck won't snap off.I've owned one for a year. Take it with me everywhere my guitar goes. Today I just bought two more to leave at the place where I practice and place where I jam. I think they are great! Besides, they'll last much longer than those cheapie stands.

Good deal

The stand is very stable, and the flip-it feature is cool. As another review stated, the square metal legs are not padded, and I could see right away that my guitar body heads in that direction when I remove it from the stand. I solved the problem by buying a strip of marine/automotive self-adhesive weatherstripping at Home Depot that matches the texture of the other padded parts. Just cut it to size and voila... the square legs are padded. There are some minor imperfections in fit and finish, so I took off a couple of points for that. With the padding added to the legs, this stand is perfect for my needs. A great price, it was a steal.

Stand the Man

This is the best guitar stand that you can buy. It's expensive, but worth the money!

Worth the Money

My son plays double bass and accoustic guitar. Last year we bought him an Alembic 5-string electric bass. He tried to put it on his usual guitar stand. It didn't fit. I searched and found this stand. It was perfect. The stand was solid and heavy enough to be stable. The spring action locking mechanism which holds the neck took a little getting used to. Overall, this a well thought out, well manufactured solid stand that will help protect your instrument for a lifetime.

Can you find a better stand?

I now have three of these stands. I have not found a better one out there on the market. Guitar stores sell us those crappy, cheap stands to hold our $800 guitars only to find out out guitar gets knocked over and the headstock breaks off.Not with this stand. If you have a LP, SG or any guitar with a 15 degree angled headstock, you can knock this stand over backward and your neck is safe. It is very heavy duty steel and it will protect your guitar. And the flip top makes it so pesky little kids don't pick up or break your axe.If you value your guitar, get one. Like I said, I have 3. One for home, one for band practice, and one always in my trunk. You never know when you need it.

This guitar stand has excellent ballance, it's really hard to knock over. But there is one thing I don't like about this stand - on the legs of the stand, it's just metal, it was no protection when you remove the guitar and you can hit the guitar against it and it may create just some small dents in your guitar. But other then that, I love it!
