I have two of these bad boys and they both are phenomenal stands. I beat the living crap of my cymbals and these things barely move at all. The only problem I have encountered with this stand is that the adjusters on the bottom got stripped and i wasnt able to keep the stand in position because it would move every time I would hit it. That is the only complaint I have. Overall, this is an awesome piece of hardware and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good, sturdy stand at a reasonable price.
I recently purchased this stand, and I have a 20" ride on it, and it is holding up very well. The only complaint I have is the price, but it is worth it.
I really like these stands! I got 3 of them with a pearl export kit I bought a while back. they hold up very well. Never have I had one tip on me. They are also easier to work with than other brands like Yamaha because you don't have two screws to mess with at the boom. The only things that could make these stands better would be uni lock and gyro lock. other than that these stands are amazing!
I recently purchased the Pearl BC800W stand, along with a 24' heavy ride. I have been using the stand boom style, and it has yet to tip with a very heavy cymbal on it. GREAT STAND!!! Lower the price, and it will be even better.
I bought this a long time ago and have had it for almost a year. It is a very good stand. I would recommend it over the Pearl B800W Stand. It's convertible which give you a lot of set up option with your drum set and it cheaper. It is very sturdy and I haven't had any problems with it at all.
This is one nifty stand for the price. It converts from a straight stand to a boom stand very readily. This saves space when breaking down your hardware. With three sections and a fairly long boom, you can easily set this thing at whatever angle and height you need. It's built fairly tough, double braced and pretty meaty. I've been using this stand for around 4 or 5 years now and it has yet to let me down in any way. I'd say the only downside to it is that it doesn't include memory locks for quick setup but hey, that's what sharpies are for. Overall it's a great stand, especially for the price. You won't be dissapointed. =)
This is the best stand i have on my kit. It is very sturdy and dosn't woble even with a 14" tom, and a 7" rock cowbell on it. The only thing that was bad is that a set screw loosened under the gear tilter but I have three things on it to hit and the cymbal is a crash/Ride so its kind of expected. I just wish i had enogh money to replace all of my other stands with these. So if you got the money I'd go with these.
This stand can be used for many things. For a while I was using it for a crash cymbal. Just recently I took the boom arm, stuck it into the tom hold in my base drum, and mounted a ride on it. I used the straight part of the stand to hold a tom. The feet keep the stand where you place it no matter how hard you play. The stand itself feels very sturdy and heavy-duty. Yeah, there's cheaper stands out there, but you just can't go wrong with this one.
I have just received this stand today and thought it wasn't going to be a good stand. Boy was I wrong. This stand is one of the best stands I have ever used. This stand blows my pacific 800's away. The only thing that is wrong with it is that it doesn't have a lot of strength in the upper portion but oh well. I loved it so much that I went out and bought two more.
You can't knock this thing over, solid as a rock, a very nice stand.
This is the best cymbal stand I have ever used. I have never had any trouble at all with this stand. It doesn't wiggle or anything. I put my 20 inch ride on this and I hit it as hard as I can and it doesn't move a bit. Plus it's real cheap. So if you want a very good stand for cheap, get this.
I own 5 of these cymbal stands. They have never let me down. The stands are easy to adjust for my cymbal needs. I have Sabians mounted on them and the stands never budge. Plus, when my band and I go to gigs, it takes only seconds to collapse the stands and put them in my trap case. Pearl is one of the best drum companies out there and the BC800W Stand really shows it.
This stand is excellent, from the double braced legs to the chrome finish it is great
The best stand i've used. I have 3 for my jet black, 7-piece pearl export. I have a mounted 14 inch tom, a chinese on the boom arm and a crash on a CH-70(another great product)all on the same stand and it holds strong. Even an earthquake couldn"t knock over one of these bad boys.Great looks as well.Peral drums and hardware and sabian cymbals forever!!
I got this stand two years ago. I used it for a ten inch Zil. paper thin splash, and now for a 6 in. A custom, splash. It works great, I've torn it down and reassembled a million times between all the gigs, and it still holds up great. It's been dropped, and beat up, but it still holds strong. Highly recommend this product.
These are not top of the line for Pearl. They are top of the line as compared to other brands. If you are looking for an affordable stand that looks good and that can take a beating, this is the one for you. The price is always right on Musician's Friend. NO, I don't work for them.
The best stand ive ever used! other companies can learn something from this stand! i recomond it to all drumers, from begginers to pros! a great stand at a good price! its easy to set up and take down and move. its sturdy and can hold a tom, and a cymbol without the slightest movement! Its solid as a rock!
I bought 3 of these at the same time. I love them. I use one of them to mount a tom on and it still doesnt budge. It's an amazing stand for the money. I think it could be compared to DW in a sence. Great buy.
This stand is so great. The base is double braced, and heavy, so it won't fall over. The only thing is that when adjusting the tube and arm area make sure that you loosen the screw that holds it in before you try to turn it so that the upper area does not come loose and turn.
It doesn't move at all! Once you set it, it's done! No more replacing parts either! Extremely heavy duty. I have a DW stand that costed twice as much and I'll put the Pearl up against it anyday.
