I am a marching percussionist and play Bass Drum. Our band recently got these carriers for all of our drums used. Mine had to be the broken one, which was fine with me since I had to use a smaller drum because mine had a cracked rim. I did not like these harnesses at the time and kept using the older ones we had lying around, i'm not entirely sure what they were since they'd been pained over.Recently a newer one had been obtained for me, seemingly almost new. I did not like it at first because of the inflatable cushion that rests on your neck made the whole drum rock around during spins and just general marching. After a while it would also be the source of back pain. I took it off and I love these more than the older one we used, I don't even feel it. The hooks have cups which tighten to the drum and I don't have the squeaking problem I had with the old carrier (though one of the hooks on the drum is bent from a previous user). These carriers don't need anymore tools than what you would normally need for a drum, and adjust in several ways. Ours are black so I would assume there are a few colors and styles you can get with these. My only complaint is the bar in the back is annoying for taking the drum on and off of you, my old carrier did not have one so it slid on and off instantly with no problem.
