Works Great!
This stand works as well as the Manhasset stands that our church currently uses. They are sturdy, stable, easy to assemble, and the tilt can be adjusted to suit your requirements

I bought two of these stands to compare with the Manhasset M48 model (virtually idendictal) stand, so hopefully this is a helpful comparison.
Manhasset v. Proline
Price: Identical
Shipment Arrival: Same-sized boxes.
Assembly: Identical Process
Tools to Assemble:
- Manhasset: Socket, socket wrench, standard blade screwdriver
- ProLine: Socket, socket wrench, phillips screwdriver, adjustable wrench or pliers
Performance Comparison: Identical
Comments:
- Manhasset: The raise/lower action is a tab-bit smoother; tilt tension adjustment can be made with only a screwdriver
- ProLine: Tilt tension adjustment requires a screwdriver and a wrench.
Appearance: Virtually identical shape, color, form
Satisfaction: Identical

I have been a church music director for 13 years, and before that a high school band director for 9, so I've had a lot of experience with music stands. I love the Manhasset stands that are easy to adjust without any twisting knobs; stands with knobs often get stripped over time because people don't bother to loosen knobs before they adjust. These stands looked to be just like the Manhasset ones, but cheaper.
Well, I got what I paid for. I bought three stands, and they all have the same problems: they are very difficult to move, especially up and down, and although I've tightened the bolt on the bottom as much as I can, the shaft wobbles. Also, the stand does not stand straight up, but tilts slightly to one side. I'm leery of trying to bend it into place, for fear the feet may break off.
Very disappointed with this product.

Comments about Proline PL48 Conductor/Orchestra Sheet Music Stand:
It has taken me a very long time to upgrade to a better music stand, and I am so glad that I finally did it. I had an entry model stand, but this model is much more stable, and the deeper tray is great for holding pencils, markers, etc.
Well worth the money.
Comments about Proline PL48 Conductor/Orchestra Sheet Music Stand:
we ordered 30 music stands, and while most were fine, we received two that were insufficient. One came without the necessary hardware to put the base on the stand, and the second was broken in the box at the time that we received it.

Comments about Proline PL48 Conductor/Orchestra Sheet Music Stand:
Very nice for the money. I did not expect it to be as well built and operate so easily. Much more sturdy than others costing more.
Pros
- Holds Items Securely
- I like the width that holds more music.
- Portable
Cons
- I have not been able to raise it. Might return.
- Rack moves from side to side, with noise.
- Unstable
- Very difficult to move up or down.

Comments about Proline PL48 Conductor/Orchestra Sheet Music Stand:
The real problem is that I have not been able to move the shaft up or down. Also the music table is not stable, There is play in it, even though it is on tight. Also makes noise. I don't think it would last long if used for performances. Somewhat disappointed. I only wanted it for teaching guitar lessons, but the problem of raising it is really serious. I am deciding whether to return it. I see that others have had the same problem.
Pros
Cons
- Difficult to adjust level
- Not Functional
- squeaky

Comments about Proline PL48 Conductor/Orchestra Sheet Music Stand:
Two out of two of these stands were returned. My husband and I took hold of each end of the stands shaft and could not move it. Consequently, the music platform could not be adjusted higher without pulling it off. It also squeaked when we turned the platform. I have ordered a different brand.
Pros
- Holds Items Securely
Cons
Best Uses
Comments about Proline PL48 Conductor/Orchestra Sheet Music Stand:
This stand is quite functional, but in a few ways falls short of the Manhasset 48T stands which I also own. The neck assembly did not tighten as well to the shaft so raising by lifting by the desk caused it to come off at the neck. The clutch assembly is stiffer and not as smooth, and there is more play in it- the shaft will twist back and forth a few degrees and rattle a little (which in the Manhasset it does not). Finally, the desk is of thinner material, and arrived slightly bent (though it was easily bent back straight). In all it is a serviceable stand, and worth the price, but not as refined as the Manhasset.
Pros
- Holds Items Securely
- Stable
- Sturdy Yet Lightweight
Cons
- Bit Tough To Move Updown
Best Uses
Comments about Proline PL48 Conductor/Orchestra Sheet Music Stand:
I use in my vocal music ministry. Stand is sturdy enough yet lightweight to carry; appearance is professional; holds books etc. easily. Excellent for the price. The only negative is that it's a bit difficult to move up/down when adjusting height, but believe that with use, it will become easier to move up and down.

Comments about Proline PL48 Conductor/Orchestra Sheet Music Stand:
This stand is GREAT if you're looking to spend less money but still have decent quality! The movement up and down is a little stiff (which I like, because I don't want it sliding down when I use it for heavier items).
The worst part is that the actual sheet music part is quite flexible. I thought this was strange, but I don't think it'll effect the strength too much.
We are constantly hauling stuff back and forth so I'll let you know how it holds up! I don't foresee any issues, and I'm all about saving some $$$
