I've been playing Promark Sticks for a few decades. I believe D'addario has helped them advance their quality and features just like they did with Evans. I first heard about these Firegrain sticks is some advertising and I thought it looked fishy but decided to give them a try. I've got a number of hours on the sticks now and have been impressed. I believe their durability is better than a non-fire treated sticks. The rest of the stick plays well and does not cause you to adjust your playing style. I've only had a single pair so far. This pair seems a bit denser than most of my other hickory sticks. I don't know if that is due to the Firegrain process or just natural variation in the wood from pair to pair.

Balanced, Lightweight, Cool Finish
Finish is cool, sounds good, balanced but chipped ball after about an hour use just like the cooper grooves and that's why my aresenal is nylon tips that last for years..

Took a chance, MF new rep recommended... Save your money..move on...accurate sizing chart is non existent... I play promark Elvin Jones. And these are fatter and heavier..but nobody will tell you that..even promarks website doesn't give specs. Tip broke in an hour of practice...kindling..very disappointed..

Comments about PROMARK FireGrain Drumsticks:
I tried these on my traps at the church. Nice sound, balance, and rebound, just a little too short and light for my tastes. Would like to see these offered in a Jazz Model. They are well made and have a nice look and feel to them. If you currently us 5A, 5B, or 7A (the model I chose) I think you'll really like these.

Comments about PROMARK FireGrain Drumsticks:
Need to add that I too am a heavy hitter . This is why ProMark sticks are the only stick I use . Nothing else lasts like 'em .
Also , it is not true that an accurate size Chart is non existent . Specifications are plainly listed for every stick that ProMark makes . One just needs to click on the specifications tab that is listed under each stick on their website .

Rick , Gavin & Rizzo don't like ?
I've been using ProMark 7A & 5A Both Hickory & Oak for decades . I won't pay good money for anything else .
These sticks last longer than anything else on the market by far . I admit that this new FireGrain might not be my cup of tea because I see no reason to deviate from what has worked so well for me all these years . But , I find it hard to believe that ProMark would bother putting their reputation at risk by marketing a product anything south of pure excellence .
