The best sticks that I have ever used

By RICH BROCK

from Pekin, IL

Comments about PROMARK Jason Bonham Signature Drumsticks:

I have been playing for 18 years and have tried almost every type of stick. These are the best for me, I'm 6'4'' and 260 pounds. I play on a custom made ( for me ) RCI Atomic Bomb acrylic kit. These sticks have great durability, are not too heavy, fit my hands very well and I rarely break one. In fact I bought 10 pair in February and I still have two pair left from that bunch. I play at least every other day !!

Weak Sticks--broke 4 pair in one night!

Comments about PROMARK Jason Bonham Signature Drumsticks:

I was stoked to try these sticks. I'd been looking for dimensions exactly like what these are, and was looking forward to trying out some ProMarks again (I've been playing Vic Firth for awhile). I'm a heavy-hitter who plays in punk-rock and heavy alt. rock bands. I have good technique and do NOT make a habit of breaking sticks unless they've been whittled down after excessive rim shots, etc. Well, these Bonham signature sticks all broke at the middle or below middle-point of the sticks, clean through--not sheered, not at the neck after heavy rim work, but at the mid-point. The wood is too weak for a stick that should be able to handle heavy rock style playing. I'm very disappointed in these sticks...

Amazing Sticks

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about PROMARK Jason Bonham Signature Drumsticks:

Like the page says, these sticks are very powerful, as you would expect from something with the name Bonham on it. After holding these sticks you will notice a very amazing balance, something I hadn't felt on sticks in awhile. They have a very good length to them as well. The large tip allows amazing rebound off of all of your drums and cymbals, as well as a very noticeable ping, comparable to a nylon tipped stick. The wood is very durable as well; I've only noticed a slight warp and that was from a hard hitting session. I have noticed a large quantity of saw dust coming off when riding my crash for long periods of time, but it doesn't seem to have weakened the stick or increase the chance of it breaking. The wood doesn't get hacked to pieces like some sticks. This is the first Mahogany stick I have played as well, and it seems to be as durable as Japanese Oak. I recommend them 100%.

My Perfect Stick

Comments about PROMARK Jason Bonham Signature Drumsticks:

I am always looking for a long stick that has a nice balance of power and speed and I finally found it. The pro-mark jason bonham stick is the perfect stick for me. 16.75" long provides excellent reach and power. The stick is made out of maple which is unusual for sticks because usually they are made out of hickory. Maple is much lighter than hickory so the balance of these sticks is perfect. They feel great in your hands. There are no other BIG sticks out there that have the same great balance and feel. I would say that maple being a softer wood these sticks do get chewed up pretty fast, but they don't seem to break as easy as hickory sticks. They are very durable sticks, they just leave a mess of sawdust everywhere.

Comments about PROMARK Jason Bonham Signature Drumsticks:

There are two sticks I really like lately. One is a Todd Sucherman Promark and this Bonham stick. The Bonham stick is about 3/4" of an inch longer than Todd's stick. This helps with rebound and has a different feel. I like the taper and the tip as well. I also like to reverse the sticks and use the butt ends on my larger drums. Oak sounds different on my instruments as it is a harder wood. American Hickory sounds pretty good as it is soft, but lately I have really been turned on to a maple stick. Man I must have a trunk with about 200 different sets and types of sticks in it that I don't really even use! I like Maple cause It's light and has a sort of creamy sound if that makes any sense compared to harder woods on the instruments. I think a person needs to select a stick based on his or her strengths and how a stick will balance in their hands via arm strength for technique. For me, I'm not a big guy and I am not little either. 5 11" weigh approx 190 lbs.. I like these sticks cause I get reach and power yet they are lighter but not too light get it? So they feel very solid and comfortable for me, compared to all those sticks I have in the trunk. I ended up buying 10 more pair cause I can tell it will be here with me for a while and not in the trunk. The main thing I want out of a stick so far is that maple wood 1st of all. I'm not really into brand names. A stick should be level, meaning straight.A pair should also be matched. Wood grain in it should all be facing one direction so the stick will not break easier on impact as easy. Bottom line is, regardless of type of wood, tip and taper, the stick must be balanced right in your hand for the person using it so it will do what you want. Man this stick opened my eyes for the balance and rebound!

    My Favorite Sticks--To Date

Comments about PROMARK Jason Bonham Signature Drumsticks:

I have been playing 5Bs for years until my son gave me some 5As a couple years ago. I played them reluctantly until I liked them better than the 5B. I have been looking for something longer because I like to play crossovers and reach for one of my ten rack toms. These sticks are long, light, and well balanced?I love the feel, and the bead design. (These sticks may be a bit too long if your set is tightly arranged). However, I got into a rhythm about the 5th session of playing with them and started getting after it, and I watched small pieces of the beads fly around my set. I guess for the lightweight, some durability has to be sacrificed, but I still love the stick.
