Good for any music genre

By drumming for God

from Lockport, IL

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

I have used these sticks both in several settings: hard rock, Christian and in our church band. In either case I didn't have to switch to a different stick. Perfect weight and balance. I will use no other stick!

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

I own these sticks. I love them. These and the Joey Jordison sticks are the only ones I use. Mostley because they dont leave any marks on my ambassador x head. I recomend these to any one who plays anything faster than Iron Maiden.

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

These drumsticks are awesome! I've had them a few months now, and I play very heavy music. these sticks feel like they'll break if you hit your drums too hard, but they are very stong! also the nylon tip,you dont have to take a risk of busting your heads by slamming down these sticks I usually use wod tip, but with the nylon tip you get a louder sound with a lighter hit!

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

These sticks are great. They're a bit thicker then I've been used to and a tad longer, but that's perfect. If you wanna get a nice fat sound out of your toms and snare, these are perfect. With enlarged nylon tip your rides will also I have a nice soild tone. You don't need to hit as hard to play as loud, so it could save you some heads. If you got stuff on your set that's just a bit far away or just wanna get a bigger sound, these are the sticks for you.

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

Have recently used the 5A (Tx5AN) which unfortunately broke much more easily than the older millenium II models. The 7A (tx7an) broke like toothpicks went through 4-5 per show and the 7A oak were slightly better but the nylon tips pop off for some reason. Seems like less quality control. I've played many hours over the past few months on these and Haven't broken a single one!!! Also perfect compromise in weight and diameter.

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

These are a great pair of sticks. I have had others such as Vic Firth 7AN and other brands, but found that they chipped to nothing, or just broke after a short amount of time, but I got my first pair of these a while back and have not gone back.

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

Highly recommended to metal, rock, and jazz players.
This stick has one feature I really like; the plastic tip. This tip is big and fat, perfect if you want thos strong sounds on both the toms and the various parts of the ride cymbal (bell, edge, body). It is very small and lightweight which gives you more speed without compensating for power.
I play with these sticks for about an hour at a time on any given day. I hit pretty hard, and it usually takes about a motnh or so before I need a new pair.
Cheap is not a very good descriptive word, but the are definitely fairly priced.

This stick has amazing balance and helps a lot for speed. Though it is small, it has a cutting sound and is able to penetrate loud music.

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

For a hard hitter like myself, I go through sticks quickly. These lasted almost 4 months before breaking! I play approximately half an hour to 2 hours every day. These sticks are so light and fast its unbelievable, they are practically toothpicks. I'm definitely buying another pair or 2 of these.

      Great Stixx

      By D'Snare

      from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

When I first got a pair of these sticks. I got them simply because I'm a Mike Portnoy fan. But after actual usage in rehersals and then in live performances, I found them to be quite durable. Heavy, but not too heavy, and they feel great, delivering a very good quality sound. I'm a convert, I even began emulating his grip techniques, and found that it was a much more comfortable way to play while delivering a great sound. I highly recommend these sticks. They are pricey though. If you can find some in a bundle or packaged set, I'd recommend those.

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

Picked these up on a whim for Christmas. I have tried many different pairs of sticks from both Vic Firth and Pro-Mark, and these are among the top. Everything with sticks comes down to personal preference, but for me, the weight, length, and diameter of these is just perfect. For high-speed eighth and sixteenth note patterns, these are terrific, allowing you to really lay down a beat without your thumb and wrist getting tired. Try these - I guarantee you'll like them.

      Incredible!

      By Crimson Glow

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

An excellent stick overall. I was a bit skeptical at first about the nylon tips, but boy was I surprised. These give you the extra reach without the extra weight, I was very impressed. After I had played with these for a while, I switched back to my old 5B's. I couldn't believe how slow and heavy they were! I quickly threw aside my old sticks and never looked back. These sticks definitely live up to Portnoy's reputation. Great feel, great bounce, great everything.

      Nylon tips :(

      By drummerboy-sWHHk

      from El Paso, TX

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

these sticks are awesome and very light making fast little solos effortless the only thing which i dont like is that they are nylon tip i always find myself playin away and i stop and notice that the tip has flown off somewhere if these were wood tips theyd be perfect.

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

I don't normally care for nylon tips, but i made an exception with these as mike portnoy is my biggest inspiration. these fit my playing style perfectly, the diameter is a lot smaller than most sticks, so it's better for smaller handed people such as myself. i've played the same pair for over 2 months now, and they've withstood my beating. very happy with them, i need a new pair now as mine are beginning to chip away and leave wood bits all over my cowbell, Bass drum, cymbals, etc.

Comments about PROMARK Mike Portnoy Autograph Series Drumsticks:

i realy love these sticks . I litteraly beat the crap out of these sticks and they did not break I love the feel. The tip has a bright feel that I like a lot. Its the lightest stick out there without being a jazz stick. And it last alot longer than Joey Jordisions hickory stick.
