Being a SKB case I thought that the case would be made out a durable plastic similar to the plastic they use for the roto x cases. Turns out it's not. After riding around in a band truck for the first month, it developed cracks all around the case, and the foam in side has come loose. Not a good case to me.

SKB makes my favorite cases! I wanted one of these because I liked it for my first guitar. I am a much better bass player than guitar player and I am pleased to say I like the bass case just as much as my old guitar case from 15 years ago. I imagine this bass case will serve for 15+ years as well. I have found it to fit both my Ibanez and Fender basses nicely. I cut a piece of foam to keep the body of my ibanez from shifting in the case but it didn't really need it. I just didn't like one bass to have that tiny bit of wiggle room that the other one didn't have.

I've owned some cheaper cases before so I decided to buy a nicer one this time around. I've had this case on the road for a while now and it's still in perfect condition! I have a Fender Jazz in it and it fits much more snuggly than other cases. I feel safer having my bass in this case than in the older cases I've owned. Plus, there is ample storage space on the inside for cables, picks, etc.Also, because it's made of ABS, it's doesn't show scratches on the outside like a tolex-wrapped case and the ABS holds up to any kind of road wear.

I play a not so easy to fit custom bass. Though it is shaped like most Fenders, it is actually a very tight squeeze to get it into a Fender case. This case solved that issue, as well as many others. My bass may be a boat anchor, but at least it doesn't take a boat anchor case to protect it.
This basses' old case was on its way out when I ran across this great deal. Not only does it fit my bass better, but it protects it better, and all without costing me an arm and a leg.

This "Universal" bass case has its internal padding set up for a Fender, but it fits the EB-3 SG bass well. That long neck fits just fine; and there appears to be no movement with the case closed.

Bought this case in a rush to make the flights to Austin for SXSW and had absolutely no issues. Great price for a flight case, even though this product does not show up on this site when you browse by "bass flight cases". Lots of room for cables and pedals. The only drawback is that it was obviously designed to form fit Fender basses or similarly shaped basses only. I'll have to go with something else for my Ric or T-bird.

I use this just to transport between the house, lessons and casual jams. It's perfect for that purpose. I can fit both my Sting Ray and the G&L JB-2 (Jazz Bass) in it although it's a little loose.

This case is the best case I have ever bought. It's not too heavy, fit's snug enough that your guitar will not even budge. Case has been dropped multiple times and it's still great. Some scratches but no bad damage at all.

Got this case because it was pictured holding a P bass. It in fact is way too large in the inside to hold one. It left a good 2 inches on each side of the bass and it moved every time I picked it up.
The neck cradle is way too shallow and does not cup the neck with support very well.
The metal edges did not have a tight close and had a gap.
The TSA locks are so low I could not get my fingers under to unlock with the case laying flat.

The case was nice looking and I really wish it would of worked out.
I didn't feel safe with using it, so I sent it back. Got a SKB44PRO straight from SKB and it is perfect.

This case has served its purpose well, although within the first week that I had it the top side got warped noticably and the ends do not fit together snuggly. Not sure what happened, it was never just sitting in the heat.
There is a small but obvious gap on either short end in the seal when it is closed, but the clasps still work perfectly.
It still holds my p-bass well and works great as an in-town travel case (ie- local shows and band practice..) but I would never put my bass on a plane in this case. I would invest in a heavy duty flight case.

so.. it is in general a good case, minus the warping tendency, and is perfect for local needs.

My 13 year old needed a durable, mobile case for his Squire Jazz bass to carry to and from school for Jazz band practice 3x a week. Fits perfectly and no wiggle room for the bass inside. Good materials inside and out. He does wish that it had eyelets or a place to hook on a shoulder strap. We will probably rivet on a couple of connections.

Purchased one of these about six years ago and it has been the case my main bass occupies ever since. Hinges open smoothly, latches swing freely and secure tightly, and the valence closes good and tight. It's been on a couple domestic flights and I've had no problems with security or damage.

The only downside is it's a little bit bulky, but I'm ok with that because of the protection it offers. If you're traveling frequently or just want to protect your baby, I'd highly recommend this case.

This is a very nice case and was an excellent upgrade from the case I was using before. The construction is good, the case is light and it has adequate storage. As a nonprofessional gigging musician it's all I'll ever need. It fits both Jazz bass and P bass guitars very well.

This case is sturdy without being bulky. The latches are high quality and my Fender Deluxe P Bass Special fits perfectly. I wasn't sure how my strap and cables would fit because there isn't an accessories pocket with a lid. But the case fits so snuggly that it wasn't a problem.
