Will not Fit all F-Style mandolins

By Mark-Y.QRS

Comments about Travelite Lightweight F-Style Mandolin Case:

Purchased this case for my Michael Kelly Legacy mandolin. This case DOES NOT come close to fitting the mandolin. The space between where the body rests and where the headstock would rest is too large causing the headstock to NOT fit into the compartment. The overall quality of the case is good for it's price, but if it doesn't fit its not worth a whole lot to you.

Not what used to be a Travelite

By Frank-wLjwz

from Palm Springs, California

Comments about Travelite Lightweight F-Style Mandolin Case:

This case was cheaper than my other Travelite for a reason. Cheaper, more rigid foam, different shape inside, much harder to fit anything in it. I feel like I ordered the wrong case. My original Travelite fit just about anything. This one is sitting under my table with a cheap electric mandolin in it, as I would not put a good instrument in this case. Not a happy customer.

Locking Latch Poor Quality

By CanaGuy12

Comments about Travelite Lightweight F-Style Mandolin Case:

Everything is terrific, but the locking latch stopped making connection, so I simply zipper the case. Not sure, but seems to be a rather cheap latch.

    • Betr than flimsy gig bag, lghtr than hardshell

Comments about Travelite Lightweight F-Style Mandolin Case:

I've been using a sleeve gig bag for my Michael Kelly F-Style mandolin for too long. When I started searching for a rigid sided gig bag I was warned about neck length issues so texted with Musician's Friend rep. who recommended the Travelite which had a slightly longer neck/headstock area. I opted for that and my mandolin looks really happy inside the case! There's even room to keep the strap attached. Groovy!

Comments about Travelite Lightweight F-Style Mandolin Case:

In my case, the latch holds just fine, but there are problems with the zipper. Otherwise, the case is excellent. It provides more protection than most hard cases and is very lightweight

Comments about Travelite Lightweight F-Style Mandolin Case:

I like having a hard case to protect it but I didn't like other cases that were either soft or had a fuzzy interior. I really like the interior and hard cover.

            Hinges - The Weakest Link

Comments about Travelite Lightweight F-Style Mandolin Case:

I have had two of these cases in a 5-year period. BOTH cases had the back lid hinge pull out of the back. ALthough I still use the second one I bought, I am looking for something different that is light weight and easy to carry. I do like the case, the hinges need more engineering.

            Shock Absorbent

            By Richie-0E2Em

            from Garden Grove, CA

Comments about Travelite Lightweight F-Style Mandolin Case:

This Travelite case is fantastic!I believe in physics. The physics are built into the design of this low cost case...and they work! The ballistic nylon along with the internal "shock absorbent" foam material goes a very long way in protecting my beloved mandolin. I can't say enough for both the protection offered and the durability.
