Great speaker ... but be aware that, as of this writing, the description says this has an Alnico magnet ... when in fact it is Ceramic! (The correct Alnico model would be the G12A/S (A as in Alnico, C as in Ceramic ... the S stands for smooth-cone)

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers G12C/S 12" 75W American Vintage Guitar Speaker:

I really liked my Celestion Blue in my 5E3 Tweed Deluxe. It is efficient enough to make that amp loud enough in a band setting on the gig. But I got tired of the upper mid spike inherent in that speaker. I wanted a more "American" vintage sound with the same volume/headroom of the Blue. This speaker delivers and sounded great right out of the box. Very well balanced speaker, rich and full, tight bass and shimmer on top without harshness, and very responsive and touch sensative. For the price of the Blue, I could buy three of these and have money left over.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers G12C/S 12" 75W American Vintage Guitar Speaker:

Researched dozens of speakers to upgrade my Hot Rod Deluxe III (12AY7 in P1), and decided to try the G12C/S. I previously tried a Celestion Vintage 30, WGS65, and the stock speakers. None brought out the warmth of this amp like the G12C/S.

I play indie/alt/blues rock with only one OD pedal in front of the amp. This speaker sounds haunting and alive. Like many have pointed out, it does not have the treble sparkle of the G12C, but instead smooths the ear-piercing shimmer into a lovely cream sound. I scoop the mids out of my EQ, but there is plenty of body. This speaker shines, however, with how well it handles the bass. When I crank '59 classic humbuckers through an angry distortion and a high clean channel volume, this speaker sounds positively MEAN. Sort of reminds me of the grungy tone on early Black Keys albums. I'm thinking of pairing this with a 112 extension cab with a brighter speaker, like the WGS Retro 30.

ALSO! This is several DB louder than the stock Celestion and my Vintage 30. Note! If you pair it, match DBs from the WGS website! This speaker is LOUD!

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers G12C/S 12" 75W American Vintage Guitar Speaker:

I have a Deluxe Reverb that, while always sounding good, could have always sounded better. Tried many speakers in it and settled on a WGS G12C and was satisfied. Until I tried the G12C/S. Now the sound is EXACTLY as I want it. The G12C is still one of my favorites, but in this amp the C/S just shines. Tight, deep bass, warm clean mids, silky smooth and tame highs. The shimmer is there, but there is no shrill quality to any note. Good headroom, especially in a Deluxe Reverb. There are many great speakers on the market now, but I can't think of any that are better, at least for for tastes.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers G12C/S 12" 75W American Vintage Guitar Speaker:

I put these in my '68 silverface Twin Reverb. Very nice amp but when I purchased it, it had a couple of speakers from Standel that had issues even after reconing. I considered buying a couple alnico tone tubbies as I am very picky about tone. However, this amp is only a backup to my '65 DR and I really didn't want to sink 650 into speakers for it. Read about this speaker as a good replacement and heard a sound comparison on youtube. The price was definitely right. Very pleasantly surprised how good these sound. Real 'vintagy' tone. I didn't give 5 stars only because I have not yet gigged with it; but I will do so soon and follow up on this review. So far, loud "bedroom" volume, clean and with my pedalboard, they sound great. Much better than I really expected.

I upgraded the speaker in my Peavey ValveKing 112 with this one. It is a great improvement. I could hear the difference when I hit the first chord. It has a full, rich tone. It really improves the sound of this amp.

I dropped a pair of G12C/S speakers in an 85-watt Kendrick 4212 amp, and they made all the difference in the world. The bottom end sounds like a piano and the highs don't tear your head off anymore. Not sure one could find a better 12" than these -- and for the price, they're unbeatable. (Plus, they look pretty sweet in the back of this tweed monster.) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers G12C/S 12" 75W American Vintage Guitar Speaker:

I own many warehouse guitar speakers, I put them in all the cabinets I build, and so far, I have yet to find one that doesn't perform well. This is the first time I've purchased the G12c/s. I put a pair into a Fender champ 100. They are far better than the factory speakers (eminence?) and as an added bonus, they look really good. I actually like looking at the back of that amp now. But nobody cares about that, right, so I'll tell ya how they sound. Totally killer! the factory speakers were 50w each, so a little added punch with the 75w in place. I'm not sure how I would describe the difference in sound, they just sound better. Played an outdoor festival with them, paired with another 212 cab loaded with WGS reaper hp and a WGS invader, and I'm pretty sure everyone in a one block radius could hear em. Great with pedals or just on their own. To me, they sound just as good as the celestion speakers that I have in my Matchless esd 212, and those easily cost twice as much. Maybe more. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong! I will be buying more of these as soon as the need arises.
