Found these about ten years ago and realized they addressed all my demands about balance, grip, weight and heft, and attack. I play everything from jam rock to jazz, progressive to bar rock and the Triloks do it all with me. I can't really remember the last time I played with another stick. The tips do erode a bit more easily than I'd like, but that's more than balanced out by their versatility and graceful power. Highly recommended.

I have bought 4 pairs of these sticks. I thought I just got faulty sticks but I was wrong. These break within 1 month of light use, 2 weeks daily and, a few days if used in a gig. They are very good sticks but, sadly they don't last long.

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
For my playing style, these sticks are IT! 7a gauge sticks are great for moving around the kit with speed and precision. "Normal" 7a Jazz sticks are too light, and for blast beats the lack of downward inertia causes fatigue. These sticks ARE heavier than your typical Jazz gauge, plus they are very well balanced and the fulcrum (sweet spot)is recessed so you can feel it with your fingers as your playing. If you play any sort blast beat related metal try out a pair, you'll love em!! Just remember they're Jazz sticks, so they will break if you don't know how to "handle" them properly. I typically will break a stick doing rim-shots during breakdowns, under heavy rim-shot conditions I break these sticks at about the same rate as any other name brand Ive ever tried. If your having issues breaking these, or any other stick, get a bottle of wood hardener from the hardware store and soak your sticks in it.

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
These sticks feel good in my hands. l had never tried any with rubber grips before, so I thought I would give them a try. The little notched area was more useful than I thought it would be, because it cut down on the sticks slipping. They have good balance. Nylon tips give a more crisp cymbal strike, but not having them was not a critical problem for me. I enjoy using these sticks.

First got these sticks many many many many years ago. I've obviously purchased countless other sticks. But this is always the stick I grab. I'm not much for man dip sticks, but this stick just WORKS.

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
Nice sticks overall. I love the grip and balance point of the sticks, but they seem too light toward the tip for me. Good for a fast, softer style than a harder hitting one...so says the amateur novice ;) Rock on!!
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
I love Zildjian sticks! Although after wrist surgery the only sticks I can use painlessly and effortlessly are the Trilok Gurtu signature sticks. It would be awesome if Zildjian could make more sticks with the Gurtu grip and different tips. I thought they were silly when I was younger but now it's the difference in being able to play or not. I've used a lot of grip sticks and there all great in there own right and had I used those to begin with maybe my wrist wouldn't have gotten so bad but the Gurtu sticks are a godsend for my post surgery wrist.

Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
I bought these for my son along with his forst drum set. He loves them and they are very good quality.
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
I have to exert more effort to drive the sound out of the kit. It's too thin and the groove just makes it feel weak. For playing long hours you just dont know weather it's gonna break in the next song! I think the only good thing about this stick is the Dip and its unique color. It's feels like a timbale stick only a little bit heavy.
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
I bought these sticks while looking for other drum things that I just couldn't live without. (You know how it is!) The bright yellow ends and the contrasting dark stained wood caught my eye. I liked the feel and the groove kept my hands in place. I am a light hitter and like the lighter sticks. (The normal 5A feels like a mallet to me.) I've only used the stick for a few days but have been very happy with the results. I read the reviews about these sticks breaking apart so I'll keep an eye on them but so far, they feel and perform great! And they don't leave any marks on my cymbals.
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
These sticks feel amazing to play with. They have incredible balance and the thinner groove for your fulcrum offers a very different feel than any other stick. I like it because it allows you to play these lighter sticks but maintain a great weight balance. I hate light sticks because I have very large hands and lighter sticks have terrible weight balance for me. But these work very well. My only complaint, and I don't know how common this is or if I just had a faulty pair, is that I broke a stick the second time I played with them, and I only played with them on my electric drum set. Yes, they broke on my electric drum set the second time I played with them. So again, it could have just been a faulty pair. But as for the way these feel to play with, I'd say they're top notch.
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
These are by far my favorite sticks because of the control I get from the indention in the handle and the Dip coating. I play with a loose grip and tend to drop/throw other sticks. But, these usually stay in my hands very well.
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
Probably the lightest sound from a stick since the Echo.
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
Great sticks. good grip.
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
These are very good sticks. The double dip coat really helps for improved grip. I bought them in a music store in my town, which is quite overpriced, but for the price that is here they are a great value. Excellent sticks.
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
Great sticks for a loose-grip/light touch. They feel really good, but light. Also the stain tends to show nicks on the shaft and tip really bad, but they balance just fine. Could stand to be a little thicker... I play Edrums with a light touch, and the sticks feel pretty small when I whack a cymbal really hard, but they haven't let me down yet. Funky looking, great feeling, nice sticks- if you can handle the size.
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
These sticks have a nice sound to them, and they sound especially great on the cymbals. My only concerns about them are that they break VERY easily and the black paint on the tips makes black spots on your cymbals. So the general verdict is that you should buy these if you play jazz or some other light hitting style and you don't care how your cymbals look, and you shouldn't buy these if you are a hard hitter, play rock or metal, or you like your cymbals nice and clean.
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
I love these sticks. They are amazing. They are extremely light. The only problem i have is when you first use them, since they are a dark wood, they marked my heads. And the grips are good, Iv never dropped them and they never slid in my hands
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
I bought these sticks the other day from a local music store and they are incredible. They're great on cymbals especially if you're looking for a jazzy sound cause it gives a splashier kinda sound to your cymbals. The DIP coating prevents these sticks from slipping out of your hands. The only thing i have against these sticks are that they are very light and thin so they could break if you're a hard hitter. But great for light hitting Jazz Drummers.
Comments about Zildjian Trilok Gurtu Artist Series Signature Drumsticks:
After tying a pair of these a few years back, I was hooked, and they are the only sticks I'll buy. Between the groove in the stick and the rubber coating, they are very comfortable, and dont slip out of your hands. Try 'em, you'll love 'em
