OVERVIEW

Amazing features for an incredible value.

The Behringer Ultrabass BXD3000H is a 300W, 2-channel bass amp head designed specifically for the bass player who requires the ultimate in tonal versatility. Armed with Behringer's proprietary Ultrabass sub-harmonics processor, the BXD3000H cranks out unbelievable low-end, plus the revolutionary Shape filter provides precision sound sculpting to satisfy even the extreme tone connoisseur. Class-D design puts massive output power into a package that weighs in at less than 7.7 lbs. (3.5 kg), giving you all the power of a traditional-technology bass amp, without the backbreaking weight.

The BXD3000H is equally at home onstage or in the studio thanks to its built-in XLR DI and Line outputs. There's even an FX Insert so you can access your favorite stompboxes and other external processors. And since modern bass players need a broad range of sounds, Behringer has given the BXD3000H the flexibility to go head-to-head against even the toughest competition, at a price unheard of for this class.

Tone. That's what it all comes down to”and the BXD3000H really delivers! Channel 1 provides squeaky-clean operation for the most true-to-life sound of your bass. If you prefer a more aggressive sound, switch to Channel 2, via the front panel button or the supplied dual-function footswitch, and use Gain 2 to dial in the perfect amount of grind. For even more tonal variation, Behringer has provided its proprietary Shape control, which lets you call up a broad range of sounds, anything from mild to wild! And if your gig calls for two basses, say a fretted and a fretless, you can use Channel 2 and the Shape control to fine-tune the sound of a second instrument.

I have several Behringer Products and have wonderful results will all of them. I own 3 behringer boards and several power amps to power a system of about 20,000 watts. so I thought I would give the Bass rig a try. 1st run out of the box was a big stage production at a Big Harley Davidson event all I can say is WOW could not believe the stage presents in an outside show. The second run was a small club venue and it was way more than we needed so turned it down some. Clean Crisp and Punchy with all the bells and whistles that you need form any thing to live performances to recording....... There are better products out there I'm sure but this is worth every penny you pay for it...... Behringer Rocks

Very disappointed at the moment. Got everything hooked up and turned on the power and the amp came on fine and then shutdown. Checked all connections and power source and all was good. Tried to start again and it would light up and shut back down immediately. Never had this problem with Behringer before. Always been rock solid, so the factory had me send it in to repair shop. The great deal I had just went out the window with UPS charges to send out to Nevada. Wouldn't it have been easier just to send another amp since it is brand new???

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass 300 Watt 2-Channel 7-Band FBQ Equalizer Bass Amplifier Head:

I used it for the first time this week with a single 15 cab (4-ohm) and P-bass at a NY jazz/cabaret club. Using it with only its most basic, single channel configuration plus some low-end eq boost (emulating an upright bass sound), it worked perfectly and sounded great. It obviously offers other flexible features, and I'll be eager to try them when other stylistic situations arise. I can use either 4- or 8-ohm speakers; it has plenty of power; fits in a backpack; and seems sturdy enough. If it proves to be long-term reliable, then I'll likely use it forever as my main amp head. It is just what I was looking for!

Great price for what you get ! Hooked to my 4 X 12 bass speaker cabinet, and kicks seriously!
The dual inputs are great for plugging in two different guitars and just use the foot switch to choose between the one you want to play. Great for gigs were I play a different bass on certain songs!

I bought this as a back-up amp really. You can't beat the price. Behringer puts a lot of pride into their gear I can tell. Very good customer communications etc. The sound is very nice and warm. I'm not really an effects person, but it's nice to know you have the options of bass octave, and distortion and other things too. Came perfectly packed and had a foot switch included. I did think that the on line registration was a bit over the top. Too busy, too many clicks from the keyboard. Make it simpler.

Let me start by admitting I'm not a big fan of class D Amps. Maybe it's just me but they sound rough around the edges. Right out of the box you can't belive how light it is.I grew up hauling a 70's Ampeg SVT around,
what a differance. After hooking it up to a Dave Eden 210 cab I was impressed.I found the graphics easy to use.I like the way you can switch the channels, nice foot switch included with the amp.Not crazy about the UltraBass effect sounds like a synthetic octave. I give this amp a 2 thumbs up for performace and price.

I got this amp for the direct line out xlr to mixer. But when I plug in it sends noise and then adds noise to my amp too.. Need to return..

I'll be using this amp to jam with friends & for the occasional small gig . I'm presently running this head through a Marshall 2x12 , 8 ohm cabinet and it sounds great (clean, nice definition). I hope to get a 2x10 or 4x10 , 4 ohm can to be able to use the full 300 watts that this head is rated at .
I only wish that Behringer had provided a pair of speaker out connections rather than just the single speaker out .
As well , it would have been cool if the sales associate that I worked with had informed me that if I waited a week to order that I would be able to take advantage of an upcoming 15% off special .
The bottom line for me is that this amp is (IMO) an absolute incredible value at it's price point .

As we know behringer sometimes get a bad rap, but this bass head is definitely worth the cost. Its lightweight and has some cool options, sounds pretty good. As far as bass heads go, you cant beat it for the price.

Sounds great thru my 2x10 SWR style and my 1x15 Karlson cab. Bought as a backup for my Hartke amp, but I use it the most. Has great tone settings and super compressor.

I used this head to replace a blown older Acoustic amp in an amp/speaker combo. It's difficult to find someone to repair stuff anymore. The Behringer does the job just fine. I probably won't use all the extras, like the frequency analyzer or the ultrabass thingy, but the amp works OK and the price was very reasonable.

Once again I was building a bass rig. I found my Acoustic 1x15 cab and loaded a SICA into it. Now I needed an amp head for power. I saw this Behringer bass head and placed my order. The amp puts out 300 watts into 4 ohms. The speaker is rated at 250 watts. That's the perfect combination in my opinion. Here is the scoop on the Ultrabass feature: it's an octave-divider that switches from the included pedal. I use that effect a lot, so, I'd say that's a bonus with EQ and the compression, which are pretty common to bass amps. I'm getting good results with this combo. The amp is compact but powerful. That's the lowdown.

I've had good experiences with a couple of Behringer mixers, so when I found a Mint open box of this head, I decided to try it. To address some of the points raised in other reviews here:
                                        • The fan: mine isn't noisy. You can hear it if you put your ear near the amp. It might be a problem in an ultra-quiet studio, but not for most purposes.
                                        • Power: you're only going to get 180 watts with one 8-ohm cab. You need two, or a single 4-ohm cab to get the full 300 watts out of it. I first tried it with my Avatar 2x12 cab. Sounded good, but, yeah, about 180 watts. Added my Ampeg PF-115, turned it up ¾ of the way and it started rattling the glassware – so plenty of power for a medium to largish room or small outdoor gig. If you're using one cab, crank up the frequencies you want with the EQ and leave the ones you don't want flat. Also, channel 2 seems to be a bit hotter than channel 1, especially if you crank the gain on it a bit.
                                        • Ultrabass: as others have said, it seems pretty worthless to me. It just sounds weird and muddy.
I like the fact that you can defeat the EQ, compression, and the Ultrabass with the push of a button. I wish they'd put a Mute button on it, tho. It comes with a nice heavy footswitch (switches channels and switches the Ultrabass on/off). Not sure how much I'll use it, but it's impressively solid. Nice handle on one side of the head makes it easy to carry. No dedicated tuner-out, but I plug my tuner into the FX-out.
All in all, I was looking for a cheap replacement for my little practce amp that died, and I ended up with a good backup for my main head (Ampeg PF-500) for most venues we play. If I were starting out with this head, I'd probably go with a couple of light 2x10 8-ohm cabs (e.g. Ampeg SVT-210AV, Peavey Headliner 210, etc.) or one 2x10 and one 1x15 (e.g. Ampeg PF-115LF, Fender Rumble 115, etc.). That would be a pretty potent and portable gigging rig for small to med-large rooms.
