For me it's a love /hate relationship. I LOVE the simple features and sound for the price. I hate it as I have had continued problems. Once received the reverb tank did not work, the connections were not even soldered together. I had to take it apart and do the repair, although simple to fix it should not have shipped with this problem. Next, the pots/controls started to go out. The clean channel controls need to a bit of coaxing as the posts in the controls arent making great connection. So, at times I may not be able to control the gain/treble/bass. But, When I can get it to work after playing around with it...LOOK OUT! It does sound great, LOUD and clean, and the other channels great as well ( Rythym and lead) So, I love it, and hate it. It is under warranty and will get it fixed but a pain that I should have to take the time on a piece of equipment only 3 months old. So, quality control stinks, sounds is great, once I get it fixed I am sure it will be a Love Love "thang". So my quality rating is so-so, value is great if it works and sound is great. I use it with LP's, Strats, Tele's, Schecter 7 string, and even a few Ovation acoustics and all sound great. Just a small humm on the single coils but can be easily ajusted by turning gain/treble down with the volume down a bit on the axe. Then just turn up the volume on the amp and you still get a decent lead on single coils Pick ups. If it wasn't for the quality problems this would be a solid 9 all the way around. But, it is what it is...

As price goes this amp is pretty good, you get A 12" speaker, three channels, and a footswitch for about 200 bucks, you can't get anything else that good in that price range. However you get what you pay for. Mine has a warped speaker that rattles against itself. The sound is mediocre. The clean channel is so extremely bright that it stings. The rhythym channel has poor distortion and the solo is just sad. Obviously, because it is solid state, it has poor harmonics. You can't find any good amp for two-hundred dollars. If you care about sound go with something tube. Amps like the fender blues junior have good tube sound and are cheap, go with that.

Hmmm

By Grumpy-9zzGu

from Nowheresville,

This amp is great. It gets pretty loud, though the clean channel turns to muddy after about 6 or 7. Three channel operation is a neat feature also. The reverb knob on mine seems to be broken and it has since i bought it, or maybe it simply does nothing to the sound. No Headphone Jack??

I have had this amp for about 2 years and its not all that good, the overdrive is good and so is the clean but its just not the greatest for rock. I would gowith the fender 212r guitar combo amp that thing really rocks.

This amp has served me well, its got good features such as the eq's for all channels, and its got a nice little boost on the crunch channel to make everything a little more dirty. The spring reverb is really nice on it too. The only thing that pissed me off about this amp is that the footswitch broke after not even having it half a year. But yea its a bitchim amp.

An incredible amp that is affordable

By Metal Monster

from Fort Myers, FL

First let me say this is no marshall halfstack I own one. I bought this amp for practice at my house. My cousin has a fender 212 FM it has 100 watts and this amp blows it away. The affects are good and it has enough power to play a gig in a highschool auditoriam bigger then a movie theater with a full band behind it.

This crate amp is awesome. I have had it for almost 7 months and it still sounds sweet. The distortion is pretty good for rock. nice reverb too. The footswitch is doing good also. All together a great amp.

I got this amp about a month ago and it sounds really good with my Epi Les Paul custom. The distortion is not that great but the solo channel is very nice. If you get a distortion pedal, im sure the distortion will sound a lot better

Not the best amp.

My problem with this amp includes excessive noise, speaker cloth buzz on low notes, and electronics failed after two years of light use.

Awesome Amp!

By Drew--d7sK

from Tampa, FL

I went to my local Guitar Center and was looking for an amp to buy. I have an Epiphone Les Paul, and I got a guitar just like mine to play through some amps. I looked at this, the Fender Blues Jr. and this VOX Valvetronix 30 watt amp w/ effects. I first saw the Blues Jr. and didn't like it that much, I couldn't get a good distortion sound I liked. Then the VOX, it was very loud for a 30 watt amp, and the effects were nice but it just wasn't for me... I then tried this amp. It was wonderful... I loved having 3 channels and a footswitch included. I can easily switch from very high distortion (solo channel), to less distortion (rythm channel), then to a beautiful sounding clean channel. The amp is very loud, easily plays over my drumkit. I play my Epiphone Les Paul through it and I get wonderful sound. I would reccomend this amp to any skill level musician, beginner to experienced. Great practice amp and also great for live gigs. I also like having an extension speaker jack. I hooked up 2 80 watt Kustom speakers and this thing was loud as heck and sounded great. Overall a wonderful amp.

I've had this amp for about a year now, and I can't say I'm disappointed. The distortion is monstrous and the footswitch is extremely convenient. Unfortunately I don't get to use it that much though, because I don't do gigs and its way too loud to practice with in the house. I use a 15 watt Marshall for practice.

I bought this amp 2 months ago,and it has never let me down. It's well made, has a great tone to it,and just simply put, is the best amp out there for the money. This little beast is very loud, and will suit you for small gigs. This is a keeper.

Worst Amp Ever

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I've used many different amps, some I purchased, some borrowed. All in all, this amp is the worse I've used, and I'd say I've used about 10, all around the 65-70 watt price range.

o.k., but a little more

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

This amp is good for someone who is just beginng. It sounded good 3 years ago, and now its just blownout. It is only 65 watts and horrible dist. I run a metal master through it and it cleans it up. This amp has a noise problem that is just frustrating, you can't even slide chords without some kind of horrible noise and is too bass heavy and just sounds bad. But for a person who is looking to step up from a smaller amp, this is a heck of a deal. I don't reccomend crate stacks.

Needs better preamp

By SGshedder

from New York

For the averarge guitarist looking for a practice amp, this is the one. The only problem is the preamp is so punniy and can't handel the dist. I started running this amp through a Metal Master to get a real crunchy metal tone. The tone can have to much bite and not enough low end. But like I said, if you run it through a metal master, it will sound incredible. Overall it is a decent soild state amp at the price, and I recomend it to beginners.
