It has its ups and downs

Comments about Dime Amplification Dime D100C 100W 2x12 Combo Guitar Amp:

Here's the thing about this amp, if Dime had it, he wouldn't of been disapointed. The flaws on this amp are very easy to fix, and its a good sounding amp. Here are the problems:1) The knobs come off very easy2) It didn't come with a manual3) The footswitch didnot want to work when I plugged it in for the first timeHow to fix these problems:1) Super Glue for the knobs2) Go online and look for the D100 Head's manual. Their the same thing, just that this one is a combo3) Plug in the footswitch with the power on then turn it off, then back on.Besides those 3 little minor problems let me tell you. This is by far one of the best amps I have ever owned. The tone is amazing and this amp is perfect for metal. The reverb on the amp however is junk. If you like to use reverb, go buy a Boss pedal. The boost switch is kinda a drag because you can't control it with the footswitch, so you just have to make do with what you got. But the boost is nice. The amps distortion is amazing. The louder it gets, the better it sounds. I love this amp and I recomend it to anyone who needs a good amp or anyone who is just starting out on guitar.

Dime Would Be Embarrassed

Comments about Dime Amplification Dime D100C 100W 2x12 Combo Guitar Amp:

My first impression taking this amp out of the box was depressing. One of the knobs was laying in the bottom of the protective bag, and two of the other knobs were easily pulled off their pots with no effort. Then, there was no manual to be found. So instead of plugging in and playing my new amp, I spent time online looking for a downloadable manual and putting contact adhesive on three of the knobs in hopes they will stay put. I emailed Dean as well as Armadillo Enterprises (the actual manufacturer of the amp) and have received no response from either.

Comments about Dime Amplification Dime D100C 100W 2x12 Combo Guitar Amp:

I cant believe another review said the sound was not even worth getting in to. I have been playing for 20+ years, and have tried many different amps. Simply put...THIS THING ROCKS ! I cant believe the old school sound it delivers. Clean sound is rich and warm..true the distortion may not be Metallica worthy, but thats what pedals are for ! Perfect for all types of music. I hear every note now on my guitar, and I couldnt be happier with this amp.

    Solid RG100es clone

Comments about Dime Amplification Dime D100C 100W 2x12 Combo Guitar Amp:

It seems like an amp that should stand the test of time. It gets LOUD. It sounds great if you like the sound of a good solid state. Worthy of recording with or playing with live. The blending feature is a really cool and rare feature that can add more depth to what you're playing. The cons are the volume drop with the boost, the single eq and the issue I had with the loop/preamp. It's great for much more than just the "Dime" sound although it nails that perfectly. If you want tons of gain expect to stick a pedal in front of it. It does sludge, thrash and groove metal sounds very well. Overall I'm satisfied with this amp.
It's a slightly modded randall rg100es clone. The amp used by Pantera, Crowbar, eyehategod etc. One of the best solid states made. Not too many bells and whistles but sounds solid. Distortion doesn't get too extreme, with the gain cranked and boost on you can nail the dimebag tone dead on and thats as extreme as the amp gets. Its SS so it takes to most pedals very well. The reverb is nothing great but is ok. The blending feature of both channels is really cool but finding settings that work with both channels is almost impossible.(an eq pedal can easily fix that though seperate eqs on the amp would have been much sweeter) My only real complaint that I didn't know going in would be the significant volume drop when the boost is engaged. Lately I've been using a boss metal zone as a boost instead which tightens everything up very nicely and adds a perfect amount of gain to the distortion channel. Sounds killer.
I must admit I had to return the first one I received due to a problem I believe was with the effects loop and/or the preamp. The new one I received has no issues whatsoever and seems to be built solid. Just for the record it was the first thing I ever had to return to Musicians Friend and they didn't give me any run around or bs about returning it. Two thumbs up to them.
It has all the identical specs of the head but with two solid Eminence speakers built in. Its gets loud enough on it's own to play smaller bars or basement shows easy. Its one of the best sounding solid states I've ever heard. True, it doesn't have a million presets and built in effects but usually they're crap anyhow and is just more things to potentially fail on you. Plus I like it to be as simple and straightforward as possible. Seperate eqs for the two channels would have really been nice though, especially with how cool the blending feature is. If you like the sound of solid state this is the best sounding amp you'll find. True if you're lucky you might be able to snag an old Randall RG100 at half the price but at this point they're all well over 20 years old, often have their share of issues plus usually don't have the footswitch.
