An awesome combo amp!

By LesPaulscreamer

from Nashua, NH

I purchased a Fender Hot Rod (Emerald edition) Deluxe and could not believe the sound I was able to get from this amp. I use my effects pedal with this amp and I still can't believe the great tone I'm able to produce. I've been playing guitar for 40 years and still play in a very active local classic rock & blues band. I loved this amp to the point of ordering another one. Now I can run stereo out from my effects pedal and use both amps to produce an incredible sound. I've been playing thru a big rackmounted rig with six 12" speakers, and the combination of the two Hot Rods blow it away. I've never had the volumn over 2 1/2 and it really screams. Now I can fit these two amps in the back of my car and go to a gig and set up in no time. I've played dozens of amps and now I finally found what I'm looking for.

Celestion Vintage 30 Makes Great Amp Greater

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Fender has added a Celestion Vintage 30 Speaker to their great Hot Rod Deluxe Amp. The result: even better sound from a great-sounding tube amp. I am playing clean with this amp every chance I get!! And, as it is only going to be a short production run with the Vintage 30, I predict it will become a desirable amp for collectors in the future. I had been looking for a tube amp for small to medium venues, and this is the one for me! You'll really be pleased with this one!

Best amp ever owned

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Sorry I didn't buy it from MF, but I have to let everyone know about this amp. It exceeded all expectations. I've owned Peavey, Marshall, Mesa, etc., and not one have had "that tone" to'em. I'm just so elated with the tone of this amp, that I will be buying a SRV or Buddy Guy Strat very soon.

Hot Little Amp

I picked this amp up yesterday and played til my fingers were raw last night (I love to play, but I've never played that much at one sitting). Previously I had a Line 6 112, which I really liked (good sound and variety without having to have a ton of other pedals), but I had been curious to check out tube amps for some variety. It took me some playing around to find some baselines for the various channels and settings, but once I found them, it offers some very nice warm to hot tones for rock and blues (depending on guitar type too...I played a Schecter C-1 Classic and a Fender Nashville Tele). I like the channel switch with the stepped up drive settings...again nice variety of tones. Clean is a very nice base setting for other effects...I played a Digitech RP100A processor and a Hendrix Experience Wah and the amp was phenomenal at producing very nice clear sound regardless of the effect or model. I also ran an MXR Wylde Overdrive through it. Perfect compliment to the "drive" setting on the amp with mid amp drive and the pedal engaged. Clean is just louder and "more drive" is almost to dirty and distorted with a pedal, but the "drive" through the pedal was perfect thick and crunchy. My final thought is the observation of the amp settings...they go to 12. They one-upped Spinal Tap...why make 10 louder when you can go to 12 (I haven't had to push it past 3 driven yet). This is a great amp...hate to do it, but I'm selling my Line 6 now. I'd have to buy a top of the line Line 6 head and cab if I was going to replace this Fender now.
